Push The Souls, Plan Every Move
Mia’s route back to humanity isn’t going to be simple. Across 32 levels, players need to push souls around each environment and guide them onto purifying altars to open the way forward.
And as you may expect, every move can have consequences. Push a soul into the wrong position and you could block your route or leave yourself with no way to complete the puzzle. That means careful observation and planning become increasingly important as the challenges develop.
Rather than rushing through each level, Mia’s Journey asks you to think about the sequence of every move before committing to it. It’s very much standard Afil Games fare, and so should you have played one of their games previously, this one should be fairly familiar.
A Cozy Adventure With A Magical Story
There is more to Mia’s Journey than its puzzle boards though. Between challenges, cutscenes gradually reveal more about Mia and the mysterious Cat God who is guiding her.
The story gives the adventure a little extra personality as Mia tries to discover what happened to her and find a way back to her human form. The cozy visual style also fits neatly with the game’s approachable nature, although the increasingly intricate puzzles should still give dedicated puzzle fans something to get their claws into.
For ÂŁ4.19, Mia’s Journey offers a compact adventure built around careful thinking, charming presentation and one rather unusual journey home. Now all that’s left is to help Mia find the right path back to being human.
You’ll find Mia’s Journey on the Xbox Store right now – it’s in three flavours too, playable on Xbox One, optimised for Xbox Series X|S, or for Windows PC.
