It has been a few years since Avery “Aphid” Cavor last set out to save the town of Victoria, but the pint-sized hero is back for another adventure. Mighty Aphid: Remastered Edition is now available on Xbox, bringing its old-school 2D action platforming to a new generation.
Available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support, Mighty Aphid: Remastered Edition comes from Cascadia Games and is priced at £4.19.

A Hero With Plenty On His Plate
Avery Cavor has a lot going on. His famous father is getting older, his mother is dying and his sister is on the moon. Unfortunately, there’s no time to sit around and worry about any of that, because Lady Bug is threatening to destroy Victoria with an army of monsters.
That leaves Mighty Aphid with a job to do.
Players will run, shoot, swim and fly their way through large levels, battling enemies, taking on bosses and earning upgrades along the way. It’s an action-adventure built around the spirit of early 2D platform games, but with a more modern take on that classic formula.
A Remastered Return For Mighty Aphid
This isn’t Aphid’s first Xbox outing. The original Mighty Aphid launched back in 2021, and we reviewed it at the time, awarding it a 3.5/5 score.
We found it to be a game with a strong 1990s vibe, a particularly enjoyable chiptune soundtrack and a proper level of challenge – especially as players approached the demanding final stages.
Mighty Aphid: Remastered Edition now gives the game another chance to take flight, making it easy for newcomers to jump in while offering returning players an opportunity to revisit Victoria and its monster problems.

Sometimes a town needs a hero. Sometimes that hero happens to be called Aphid.
For £4.19, Mighty Aphid: Remastered Edition offers a compact dose of retro-inspired action platforming, with monsters to defeat, bosses to battle and plenty of ways to get around its oversized levels. What’s not to like?
