Mining Mechs – now on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch

Ready to dig deep, deeper than ever before? It’s time to get involved with Mining Mechs as it releases on console.

From Eastasiasoft and Delayed Victory, Mining Mechs is the latest in a long, long line of diggers; games that task us with going underground in search of treasure. It’s something we’ve been doing for years, first with Dig Dug, and more recently in the likes of Pepper Grinder and the stunning SteamWorld Dig

Dig down with Mining Mechs

We should have the skills available to find success in Mining Mechs then, as it releases for play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (optimised), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

This one plays out in 2D fashion as you take charge of a high-tech mining mech, tasked with going deep into the Earth’s core as you hunt the source of some weird noises and even weirder activity. The fact that hidden away are a ton of precious resources is neither here nor there…

With difficulty levels increasing the deeper you go, and various challenges coming to the fore, the circle of dig, earn, upgrade, repeat will be at the fore with this one. As will a host of key features, each designed to keep you going back to Mining Mechs time and time again.

Key features

  • Drill and blast through the earth to find ores and treasure!
  • Connect pipes to carry valuable resources back to the surface.
  • Use earnings to pay for fuel, supplies, upgrades and new mechs!
  • Meet profit objectives to advance the story.
  • Enjoy retro pixel art aesthetics and multi-directional scrolling mining sites!

Buy now!

Grab a look at the trailer for Mining Mechs below and then hit the digital storefront of your choosing. For us, it’s the Xbox Store, where we can play on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for just £4.19.

Alternatively, there’s the Mining Mechs + Magnetic Mystery Bundle available too. That adds in the Magnetic Mystery DLC pack (otherwise £1.69), delivering a new map, a new storyline, 13 new resources and 5 new mechs.

We’ll drop a review for you soon too.

If you prefer, play on PlayStation or Switch.

Mining Mechs Description

Dig deep and make it big as you pilot mining machines to collect subterranean resources in pixel art style! Strange noises and weird activities have been detected underground and you’ve been called in to help! Mining Mechs is a retro 2D action game presented in fluid pixel art style! Commandeer a high-tech mining mech to dig deep into the earth and collect valuable resources. Sell those resources on the surface to earn money, which you’ll need to upgrade your mech or buy new ones. Each mech has its own benefits and will help you explore the depths even further. Don’t think your quest will be easy, though. The deeper you get, the tougher it gets! Will you unravel the dark secrets of the underground, or will you come up against challenges that push your digging skills to the limit?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
