You can probably guess what is going on in the latest little 1-bit inspired action platformer to hit Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC. After all, if it’s not dealing with ten rooms in ten seconds then TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds has got its marketing all wrong.
Available to purchase and download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC right now, TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds is from the development team of The Bworg and the indie publishing kings at Ratalaika Games. It’s a game that is priced extremely well – a mere £4.99 – and will give you the opportunity to prove your gaming skills over and over again, some ten seconds at a time.
Promising to deliver addictive, satisfying and gameplay, TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds tasks you with making your way through an undergound facility. The catch is that there are ten floors here, with each of those containing ten rooms; rooms that are sealed with you inside of them for ten seconds.
Nothing wrong with that you may think, but each and every room is full of traps – each of which has been put in place to kill you. It’s here where the ‘learn from failure approach’ comes in, as whilst each will play as a puzzle, you’ll only get access to the solution by failing. There’s also a token system which can be cashed in at any safe room, giving you upgrades and special abilities.
Sold to the unsuspecting world as a Super Meat Boy crossed with Souls-like styled game, we’re not sure that TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds is going to be for everyone. Thank god then for an easy/casual mode which switches on invicibility – if you’re after the achievements which Ratalaika dish out easily, you’re going to want to hit that switch.
Alternatively, if you’re an absolute masochist then a Hell mode will sort you out.
