During the latest Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Capcom announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, an all-new adventure coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in 2026.

The Wait is Over for Xbox Riders
For years, the Monster Hunter Stories series had a curious absence on the Xbox platform. A strange situation that we even questioned back in 2024 by asking, “Hey Capcom, Where is Monster Hunter Stories on Xbox?“
Thankfully, the stage is now perfectly set for a new generation of Riders. The announcement of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection confirms that Xbox players will be part of this brand-new adventure from day one.
A Tale of Two Nations and Twin Rathalos
This new story is set amidst a growing catastrophe. The lands of two nations, Azuria and Vermeil, are being consumed by a mysterious crystal encroachment. A glimmer of hope appears with the discovery of an egg containing a Rathalos, a monster long thought to be extinct. However, this hope quickly turns to despair when a second monster emerges from the same egg.
These twin Rathalos share the same mark as the legendary twin Skyscale Rathalos, harbingers of destruction from a civil war waged 200 years prior. As the environment deteriorates and the flames of war begin to stir once more, you are thrust into a torrent of fate.
A New Hero and a Royal ‘Hostage’
In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, you take on the role of the heir to the nation of Azuria. As the leader of the Rangers and the sole Rathalos Rider in your kingdom, you are tasked with protecting monsters and investigating the strange phenomena threatening the world.
A life-changing event will drive you to search for the truth, setting you on a perilous journey to the forbidden land beyond the northern Meridian.
An Unlikely Alliance
You will be joined on your quest by Eleanor, the princess of the rival nation of Vermeil. In a desperate attempt to ease the growing tensions between the two nations, she offers herself as a ‘hostage’ to Azuria.
Moved by your efforts, she and her cherished Monstie, an Anjanath, will join you on your adventure to uncover the true intentions of her sister, the Queen of Vermeil.
Is Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Going to be on Game Pass?
So the next big question – will Monster Hunter Stories 3 be on Game Pass? Well, there is no full confirmation at this time, with the 2026 launch still some way away. Will it hit Game Pass in the future? That’s still very much up for debate.
