The train to Hell is fully re-stocked and ready for another departure.

Shiny Shoe and Big Fan have released the first free post-launch content update for their critically acclaimed deckbuilder, Monster Train 2 – ready to scour the Lost Arsenal?

The Lost Arsenal update is available right now for all players on Xbox and PC, and it’s free to download for everyone, including those playing via Xbox Game Pass.

This huge new update expands the game’s already massive deck with a host of new cards, rebalances existing clans, and is just the first stop on an exciting new content roadmap that extends into 2026.

Adding More Fuel to an Already Addictive Fire

We were completely blown away by Monster Train 2 when it first launched, hailing it as one of the best deckbuilders on the market. In our 4.5/5 review, we called it a “very addictive experience” that “takes its winning deck-building formula and enhances it with a cavalcade of fresh ideas to keep you coming back for more.

The new Lost Arsenal update is the perfect reason to fuel up the pyre and dive back into that addictive loop, adding even more strategic depth and variety to a game that is already a must-play for fans of the genre.

What’s in the ‘Lost Arsenal’ Update?

This first major content update focuses on expanding your strategic options and refining the balance of the game.

The biggest addition is a whole new arsenal of cards to add to your collection. The update introduces new Room, Equipment, and Spell Clan cards. Crucially, it also adds new clanless Room and Equipment cards, which will add a new layer of versatility to your runs and can be found from Merchants.

The developers at Shiny Shoe have been listening to player feedback too – as you would probably expect to hear. As part of this update, the original Monster Train clan cards that were carried over to the sequel have been improved and rebalanced to better integrate with Monster Train 2’s gameplay.

There have also been balancing updates across all clans to ensure a fair and competitive experience.

The Journey Ahead: A Roadmap for the Future

The Lost Arsenal update is just the first stop on a long and exciting journey. Shiny Shoe has also revealed a content roadmap for Monster Train 2 that charts the course for new updates all the way into early 2026.

While the full details are still shrouded in mystery, players can look forward to a hellishly cool slate of additions in the future, including new bosses, new artifacts, and a brand-new, unrevealed Clan.

The fight to wrest control of Heaven from the invading Titans is far from over. With a host of new strategic possibilities available today and a clear commitment to long-term support, the future of this incredible deckbuilder is looking brighter and more chaotic than ever.

It’s time to get back on the rails.

You can download Monster Train 2 from the Xbox Store if you like. Or maybe check out the Steam page?
