There is rarely a week goes by anymore that a new farming simulator in some guise is releasing onto consoles. Whether it’s the hyper-realistic Farming Simulator games, or the slice-of-life approach that comes with the Harvest Moon games, developers must finally be seeing something in this corner of the gaming world. The latest farming title, Harvest Life is releasing today on Xbox and PlayStation.
Harvest Life is definitely on the more relaxed side of the ‘Realism in Farming Games’ spectrum, offering gameplay similar to the Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley games. Tend to your crops, collect produce from your animals and turn it into a profit, all standard farming stuff.
When the jobs are done, take a trip into town and visit the inn or the shops and say hi to the locals. They may offer you challenges to complete or request items from you. The rewards on offer though will make it worth your while. You may even meet your future spouse in the town too.
But if you want something a bit more exciting than simply dating, take a trip down into the catacombs and defeat the skeletons that roam free down there. What will you find? You’ll just have to keep adventuring to find out.
Harvest Life features split-screen multiplayer. Many hands make light work after all, just make sure they don’t steal your boyfriend or girlfriend too whilst logged-in!
