Makis Adventure
Makis Adventure – now on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

A vibrant and unique new platforming adventure, where you can morph between a nimble human and a powerful shark, has just swum its way onto consoles.

Makis Adventure comes to town as a new side-scrolling action platformer with a shape-shifting twist. It’s all been put together by those at Zoroarts and Eastasiasoft, playable right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch for ÂŁ8.39.

An Adventure with a Bite

Prepare to run, wall jump, swim, and bite your way through a world of unique islands, meeting new friends and deciding whether you prefer to focus on fighting or exploring.

In Makis Adventure, you will take on the role of the titular hero, Maki, as you explore a world of uncharted islands. Your unique ability is being able to morph between your human form and one of three different shark forms, allowing you to tackle the game’s challenges in a variety of ways.

A Tale of Two Forms

The core of the gameplay is the ability to switch between your different forms to traverse the wild and deadly islands.

As a human, you can run and wall jump your way through the blistering 2D pixel art stages.
As a shark, you can swim and bite your way through watery sections, using your momentum to power through levels and defeat enemies.

The game features a unique structure. The main action takes place in classic side-scrolling stages where you’ll fight your way through dungeons and take on a variety of mini-bosses and end bosses.

In between these levels, you’ll roam a 3D hub world, where you can fly between the uncharted islands, complete fun ring mini-games, find hidden treasures, and even go fishing!

Another Unique Title from Eastasiasoft

Eastasiasoft continues its mission of world domination, or at least the opportunity to bring a massive variety of unique and affordable indie titles to console players.

The action-platforming of Makis Adventure joins a huge and diverse library that has recently included everything from the retro hacking puzzler CORE.SYS to the emotional afterlife RPG Faye Falling.

Key Features

  • Shape-Shifting Action Platformer: Traverse wild and deadly islands in the form of a human or one of three powerful shark forms.
  • A Mix of 2D and 3D: Run, jump, and bite your way through side-scrolling stages, and roam a 3D hub world of uncharted islands.
  • Play Your Way: Choose to focus on combat against powerful bosses or on exploration to find secrets.
  • A Host of Extra Activities: Play mini-games, find hidden treasures, and even go fishing!
  • Vibrant Pixel Art Style.

The uncharted islands are waiting to be explored, and a shape-shifting adventure is about to begin.

If you’re a fan of classic action-platformers with a unique mechanical twist, Makis Adventure is ready for you on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Alternatively, the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop will cover bases.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
