Run, Jump, Slice, Repeat
Motorslice is all about movement. Fast movement. Fluid movement. Reckless movement.
You play as P, dropped into a brutalist, post-apocalyptic megastructure with one simple job: clear out the machines and get out. Easy, right? Well, as you may suspect, not quite.
You’ll be sprinting, wall-running, sliding, climbing and chaining together moves just to stay alive. And when the gaps get too big or the route gets messy? That chainsaw isn’t just for combat – it’s part of how you move through the world.
Big Machines, Bigger Problems
In Motorslice it isn’t just a case of dodging the odd enemy. The place is crawling with rogue construction equipment, from smaller autonomous threats to absolutely massive boss machines.
And those bosses? You don’t just fight them, you climb them. Scaling huge mechanical beasts and tearing them apart piece by piece feels very much like the point here.
It’s fast, it’s brutal, and it doesn’t give you much room for error. One mistake can end a run just as quickly as a well-timed move can save it.
More Than Just Action
For all the speed and chaos, there’s a quieter side to Motorslice as well.
The megastructure itself is oppressive, massive, and a little bit unsettling. There are stretches where it’s just you, a flashlight, and a whole lot of empty space. This feels like the kind of game that makes you feel very small, very quickly.
It is all straightforward enough too – get in, clear the machines, get out. But as things unfold, it becomes clear there’s more going on.
For starters, you’ll team up with a slightly questionable Orb Drone companion, and what begins as a routine job begins to spiral into something a bit more mysterious. It’s not overly heavy on story, but there’s enough there to keep things ticking along between the action.
Worth The Risk?
Motorslice feels like one of those games that lives or dies on its movement. We’ll find out in full review which way it swings, but should you be into fast-paced platforming, high-risk combat, and the idea of carving your way through giant machines with a chainsaw, there’s plenty here to grab onto.
Find Motorslice on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Play Anywhere, through Game Pass Ultimate and PC tiers if you like. It’s also on PlayStation.
