Mow ’em down with Lawn Mowing Simulator on Xbox Series X|S and PC

-

lawn mowing sim launch

There are all manner of simulators available across the gaming formats. What was once pretty much a PC exclusive genre, as the power provided through the console generations has increased, slowly but surely these simulators have managed to find a home elsewhere. We’ve driven buses and tractors, we’ve taken to the skies and the seas. Now though it’s time to get mowing as Lawn Mowing Simulator cuts curves onto Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Coming from the Curve Digital and Skyhook Games teams, Lawn Mowing Simulator is one of our most anticipated of all the sims – yep, even more so than Microsoft Flight Simulator. In fact, it’s so anticipated that it easily found a place in our Up Next article for August, detailing the most exciting games to be coming to Microsoft’s gorgeous Xbox.

And now it’s here, the chance arises to jump onto the biggest and best mowers in the business as you fly along at 5kmh, with the wind in your hair, enjoying life. All while trying to dodge ornamental gnomes and praying that you don’t totally wipe out the flowerbed that is full of life.

Lawn Mowing Simulator comes with a price of £24.99 attached, playable fully on Xbox Series X|S and PC as players get the chance to take in the details of some of the finest machines in the business. Fully licensed, we’ve got the likes of Toro included, and SCAG, and STIGA, alongside a host of other big names from the cutting edge business.
These names may not slip off the tongue, but to those greenest of greenfingered players, this is possibly a virtual gardening experience that only dreams are made of.

The lawns you’ll find yourself cutting through the Career, Challenge and Free play modes are all set in the Great British countryside, taking you to a variety of locations with one aim in mind – cut grass and earn cash. And then use that cash to upgrade your equipment, your business and your dreams. Fail, and well, it’ll all be a bit of a nightmare.

There’s a ton to involve yourself in here with Lawn Mowing Simulator on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with all of the following kicking up a key features fuss…

  • PHYSICALLY AUTHENTIC LAWN MOWING EXPERIENCE – Execute ground checks, set your blade height, and measure your engine load as you complete a variety of contracts across Career Mode, Free Mode or Challenge Mode. Take your mowing further with several attachments from stripe rollers, mulching kits, grass collectors, recyclers, flail decks and more.
  • BEAUTIFUL RURAL BRITISH COUNTRYSIDE – Lawn Mowing Simulator is set in a beautiful British countryside town. Busy residential streets, vast castle grounds, quaint cottage greens, and large equestrian fields are just some of the locations that await your mowing blades.
  • REAL WORLD LICENSED MOWER MANUFACTURERS  – Toro, SCAG and STIGA front line Lawn Mowing Simulator with their real-world machines painstakingly re-created visually and physically. 12 Mowers are available in the base game, each with their own challenges, attachments and upgrades to pursue.
  • ACCURATE AND ATTENTIVE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT – Build your own lawncare business from the ground up. Purchase and upgrade your headquarters, hire employees, purchase advertising and balance the books as you grow and expand your business.

David Harper, Co-founder of Skyhook Games said: “Lawn Mowing Simulator is lawn-mowing at its absolute best! Mowing a lawn well and efficiently is something we find immensely satisfying – and we think other people feel the same way, so we’re really excited that people now get to play Lawn Mowing Simulator in all its glory.”

“We’d like to thank our wonderful community who have supported us through the development of the game, sharing their invaluable feedback on our Discord server. We’ve been blown away by the positive sentiment and have worked incredibly hard to make the game as good as it can possibly be for launch and beyond. We hope everyone enjoys playing Lawn Mowing Simulator as much as we’ve enjoyed making it and we’re looking forward to more content to come in the future!”

So, we’re guessing you want to know how it all plays? Well, we’ve been lucky enough to have been hands-on with Lawn Mowing Simulator on Xbox Series X|S for a couple of weeks, getting deep into the details. In fact, we’ve gone so deep that we feel we’re in a decent enough position to throw out some review thoughts – you’ll find those right here

If you’re then sold and need to get hopping aboard these mowers for yourself, get over to the Xbox Store and nab an Xbox Series X|S optimised version of Lawn Mower Simulator for yourself. You’ll also find the game kicking around on PC.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
