Once upon a time the puzzle genre consisted heavily of block-pushing mind-benders, giving you the chance to work your way through multiple static screens of hardcore brain testing action. If that is something you wish to go back to, then Mushroom Quest on Xbox One is going to be the game for you.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Mushroom Quest has moved away from the PC world which it has frequented since mid-2018, to try its hand with a different type of gamer.

Flirting with the old-school retro-styled puzzle arcade action which held together the industry back in the day, Mushroom Quest will see you becoming a mushroom, before working your way through multiple levels of a dungeon, collecting up magic crystals and solving puzzles as fast as possible, all in order to escape.

Priced at £4.19, Mushroom Quest happily provides a slow and steady riddle test, as you go about moving blocks, working out pathways, and trying to find a way out of the stages within this dark dungeon. With a certain level of ‘test’ promised though, you’ll need to discover the unique approaches required in each level. Should you not, then well, this will be one squashed mushroom.

Does that sound like an adventure you’d like to be part of? Get over to the Xbox Store right now, fill your boots with a download and prepare to take your time solving the tasks at hand. And don’t forget to let us know if you escape this particular dungeon. The comments section is down below.

Game Description:

In a deep ancient dungeon, a mushroom is revived. To escape, the mushroom should collect magic crystals. Use acuteness to pass through all levels of the dungeon. Solve riddles and find creative ways to pass the levels.
