Mutant Football League 2 – out now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

After months of bloody mayhem in Early Access and Game Preview, Mutant Football League 2 has finally bulldozed its way into full release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Priced at £24.99, the long-awaited evolution of the cult favourite arcade gridiron game arrives ready to tear up the field with more gore, more chaos and more monstrous attitude than ever before.

Digital Dreams Entertainment have spent the year sharpening bones, oiling BruiserBots and fine tuning their “anti simulation” take on American football. Now the full-fat version is here – bigger, nastier and rowdier in all the ways fans hoped for.

A Brutal Take On Football That Makes No Apologies

Mutant Football League 2 is not interested in realism, and that’s entirely the point. This is an 8-on-8, heavy-metal, limbs-everywhere brawl dressed up as a sports game – a spiritual successor to the ‘90s Sega Genesis classic that openly laughs in the face of traditional football sims.

Buzzsaws slice the turf, giant worms erupt from the field and referees get blown up more often than they blow the whistle. It’s all wrapped in dark comedy and pure arcade punch, making every match a chaotic highlight reel in waiting.

A Monster Roster With Big Personalities

There are more than 36 teams this time around, ranging from bruising Orcs of Hazards to mutant parodies of real world franchises like the Killadelphia Evils. Historic players can be unlocked, rookies drafted and – if none of that appeals – you can simply craft your own mutant squad from scratch.

Build A Dynasty Or Just Cause Havoc

Whether you’re rebuilding a legacy or jumping in for pure carnage, MFL 2 stacks its content deep.

  • Season Mode if you want straightforward gridiron chaos
  • Dynasty Supreme for franchise-building, player development and multiple seasons of mayhem
  • Online Multiplayer for bragging rights, explosions and likely arguments with strangers

Players can evolve their freakish team with new mutations, armour sets, weapon upgrades and even temporary SkillRoid boosters mid-match. Balance is optional. Style is mandatory.

Shape The Field Of Screams Yourself

The Doom Field Designer lets you place hazards wherever you see fit – buzzsaws, fire geysers, blizzards and other environmental nasties designed to ruin someone’s season. The only rule is simple: if it makes someone explode, it’s fair game.

Quick Summary Of Mutant Football League 2

  • Price: £24.99
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC
  • Genre: Arcade football with gore, comedy and mutants
  • Teams: More than 36 mutant squads
  • Modes: Season, Dynasty Supreme, Online Multiplayer
  • Customisation: Player mutations, weapons, armour, arena creation
  • Extras: Tim Kitzrow returns with chaotic commentary

Bigger, Faster And Deadlier Than Before

Mutant Football League 2 feels like Digital Dreams doubling down on everything that made the series a cult hit – then adding chainsaws. The rebuilt graphics, new customisation tools and expanded team building options make this full launch feel like a genuine leap from Game Preview. You can download the game in full from the Xbox Store.

With its absurd energy, anarchic humour and pick-up-and-play flow, MFL 2 continues to carry the torch for old school arcade sports fans. If Madden is too serious and real life football lacks the occasional explosion, this is the gridiron experience you’ve been waiting for.

Ready to create, mutate and dominate? The mutants have taken the field. And they’re hungry.
