There’s possibly not a development team out there that know more about the two-wheeled bike scene than Milestone, with the Italian based developers having produced a huge number of bike racers over the last few years. With the likes of upcoming MotoGP 19 to their name, and the RIDE series delivering some of the very best bike mechanics yet seen in a videogame with RIDE 3, it’s a good time for Milestone. But that doesn’t mean they’ll be sitting back and watching the cash roll in, and with the announcement of MXGP 2019, the team will be going all out to deliver yet another great experience.
MXGP 2019 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will be coming on August 27th 2019, seeing Milestone push on from the previous MXGP games in the series to once more deliver an experience covering the official FIM Motocross World Championships. And in doing so MXGP 2019 will, for the first time, allow you to experience the thrill of the current MXGP season, dropping you into the boots of a pro and letting you race through the 2019 season, with all the riders, bikes and teams present.
This will see you competing in the MX2 category or directly in the MXGP top class, choosing whether to join an official team or sign with a Sponsor in a custom team.
Taking part in the current season is not the only new feature in MXGP 2019; for the first-time players will have a Track Editor to create their favourite track, fully customised with specific Motocross modules. But further to that you’ll also be able to select from four contrasting environments for the track, each with different features – forest, beach, desert and jungle. These can then be shared with the community, letting you compete against them too.
Just like in every other MXGP game, the chance to customise your rider will be deep, with a huge range of licensed accessories to unlock, with both cosmetic and mechanical options letting you adapt your machines to suit your own playstyle.
You’ll also have the chance to hone your skills in the Playground, with the one in MXGP 2019 set in Provence, fully explorable in free roaming. The Playground has been completely redesigned, expanded and enriched with new areas and new game modes, with further details revealed later in the marketing campaign. One of the most important new gameplay features though will be that of the Waypoint mode, allowing you to design your own off-road path.
MXGP 2019 will be available from August 27th 2019 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and we’ll be sure to keep you fully up-to-date with the development process as the months move on. For now though, the usual trailer should keep you quiet… in a good way!
