It was only a few weeks back that we were considering the future of Milestone‘s MXGP series, with the latter months of the year ahead and no word on whether a new annual entry would be dropping. We need not worry though for Milestone have popped up with the official announcement of MXGP 2021 – detailing and dating it in the process.
We’ll get to the important bit first and that is the release date. MXGP 2021 will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Pc through Steam come November 30th 2021.
When it does arrive you can expect to be treated to the latest adrenaline-packed two-wheeled game of the official FIM Motocross World Championship, as the franchise hits back with the 2021 edition. This 2021 version is promising much too as MXGP 2021 will let players compete with more than 40 riders from MXGP and MX2 categories, all whilst racing on the official 2021 Championship tracks.
There will be a Career mode (obviously) and this seems to be the perfect way to feel the excitement of being in the shoes of a real rider: players will start to compete in the MX2 championship, joining a team or creating their own (with real sponsors), aiming to reach the MXGP and achieve the glory. Offering up enhanced immersion thanks to the Career’s Real Transfer windows (where players can switch from Official Teams to customised ones), Contracts, Personal Team and Challenges and additional activities, you’ll be found competing on both official and new tracks.
It goes without saying that for those with real competition in their veins, it’ll be the Multiplayer game mode which is of most interest. This will arrive with improvements too, with it now featuring qualifications in online lobbies, and the chance for players to choose from different kinds of new experiences such as Custom Tracks and Customs Waypoint in the Compound.
But that’s not all and MXGP 2021 will come with four Legacy Tracks in tow; iconic races coming from past editions. They are Ottobiano (Italy), ErnĂ©e (France), Leon (Mexico) and Agueda (Portugal), with all available both in Single Player and Multiplayer. expect to find a decent amount of customisation and personalisation too – the Track Editor is back, allowing players to create, share and download the best tracks they can create, along with more than one hundred official brands to choose from in order to make your rider and bike absolutely unique.
We’ll be sure to remind you when that November 30th 2021 launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC occurs. For now, kick back with the trailer. And if you can’t wait until November, perhaps get some practice in with MXGP 2020 or MXGP 2019.
