Something strange occurred many moons ago in the village of Oakmarsh and now you’re tasked with helping the ghost of a young lady through a point and click adventure. Welcome to the mysterious Goetia on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Arising after 40 years of a deathly slumber, Abigail Blackwood returns from the grave and makes her way home to Blackwood Manor. Much to her confusion, the place has seen better days, while the village in which it resides, Oakmarsh, is in ruins. Given that the members of the Blackwood lineage often dabbled in the spiritual aspects of life and partook in bizarre experiments, chances are there’s a rather mystical answer to what happened here. Someone wants Abigail to figure it out, so it’s down to you to aid her in unveiling the goings on in Goetia.

As it’s a point and click adventure, you’ll need to navigate your way through the 2D Victorian style world and guide Abigail’s orb-like spirit through the vast amount of places available to explore. Aside from the manor itself, other areas of interest include general ruins, caves, the woods, and the nearby village. Expect to find her ghostly powers of possession, the ability to walk through walls, and other skills, to come in handy when solving puzzles or reaching secret rooms.

The mystery of Goetia needs solving and if you’re ready to delve into this odd world, it can be picked up from the Xbox Store for just £8.39. Should you need a little more convincing, our full review of Goetia is ready for your perusal right now. So, be sure to give it a read and then let us know if you’ll be purchasing it via the comments section below!

Game Description:

The ruins of any village are the silent testament to its final moments. The ruins of Oakmarsh are no different. Their telling silence, the dust blanketing what was once a quiet village near Coventry. The name of a manor and the family that lived within. A perverted and mad lineage, a clan whose final members devoted their life to mysticism and fanatical experiments. I am Abigail. Abigail Blackwood. Recently risen from the grave, I know nothing about the last 40 years of my family’s history… But obviously somebody is keen on seeing me lift the veil on what happened in Oakmarsh – to what led to the downfall of Blackwood Manor. And it seems like I have no choice in the matter…
