A Comfy and Cozy Game To End Your Day
The cozy world of video games keeps growing, and with gamers loving to sit down and solve puzzles, there are many games awaiting fans of all kinds.
One of those games is Mystic Pathways. Not only is this a cozy and adorable game about magic and fairies, but it also has many different relaxing puzzles that players will need to solve in order to keep progressing through the game.
And honestly? That is it. But this is what makes the game so relaxing.

Mystic Pathways is a cozy puzzle game that will challenge its players by using creativity and other skills to piece together different pathways to make a trail to some magical crystals that the fairies need to get to. These pathways will be able to be manipulated and moved about to reorder in all kinds of different ways. Once the fairies have made it to the crystals, they will then activate them. The way players will know they have succeeded is when the fairies successfully make it to the crystal altars and light them up with their magic without dying.
The game features a total of 30 levels, 15 on each page. As players progress through the different levels, it will become more and more challenging as they introduce new mechanics and sometimes levels will have three fairies instead of one, making it a bit more overwhelming.
Not only is Mystic Pathways relaxing because players can take their time to solve the puzzles, but it also has an amazingly calming soundtrack as well.
A Magical Night In
While playing this game, I felt like I was enjoying the coziest night in where I was almost transformed from summer time to the late fall, where everything is cozy, warm, and has some hints of spooky dusk to it. But, needless to say, I was snuggled into my bed, playing the game on my Xbox Series S, and enjoying each puzzle that was thrown at me.
With the first puzzle, I took a few minutes to look at the screen and almost immediately understand what I was supposed to do – connect all the different pathways together to make a way for the cute fairy!
Mystic Pathways’ puzzles do get a bit more difficult, but never to a point where I couldn’t figure it out. Plus, the game provides a “hint” system that becomes available almost every five seconds after it is used, making the harder to solve puzzles a lot easier. Something I caught myself doing to keep myself from growing stressed was pressing the hint button at the beginning of every level to see where all the three and four way paths go to make that path easier. Then I challenged myself by connecting everything to all the different paths and openings.

A lot of the levels in the beginning only contain one fairy, while many of the others contain two fairies and only about one level containing three fairies and maybe being the most difficult. As players progress throughout the 30 levels, they will be introduced to new pathway items, and even travel jumpers which allow the fairies to almost time travel from one path to another.
Even with having to convert all these different pathways all together, I found the game overall very relaxing and peaceful to play – one of those games that allows you to completely shut off your mind and just play it.
Short and Sweet: Length and Challenge
For the small and quick game it was, I enjoyed Mystic Pathways a lot. It provided me a cute and positive outlet for about a day or two to just sit and solve puzzles.
However, one of the biggest downfalls of the overall game is that there are not many levels at all, which makes it really upsetting considering I would love to sit and play the game for hours. I also don’t feel the levels got challenging enough. While some were, I would have loved to see more and more items introduced, especially with there being so many opportunities for it with the magic elements.
With all that being said, the overall way Mystic Pathways ran on the Xbox Series S was amazing. It wasn’t slow, glitchy, or anything else. It worked smoothly, letting me choose my pathway routes as I wanted without any other issues. The game is pretty simple though, so it makes it an easier one for the console to run.
The graphics were bright, colourful, and give a throwback vibe to the older pixel style games we had back a few years ago. It just really felt like I was taking a trip back into the past and enjoying a simple game I would have played on a Game Boy style console.
I don’t have a whole lot of negatives to say about Mystic Pathways, other than I wish there were more levels with more items and things to do and enjoy. But, for what it is, I loved the game.

Perfect for Relaxing Puzzle Enthusiasts
Mystic Pathways is a game I recommend to those who want to pick up a quick and easy game to enjoy – especially when wanting to relax to a new magical level. With it being short, it opens up the chance for the player to 100% it within an hour or so, and feel really accomplished about themselves. Overall, I would recommend Mystic Pathways.
