As you would guess from the title, Necromunda: Hired Gun is the next game to come out of Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe. And today Focus Home Interactive and Streum0n Studio have not just revealed the first details, confirmed the release date and opened up pre-orders, but they have thrown in an epic trailer for good measure.
Necromunda: Hired Gun will come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC come June 1st 2021, giving players the chance to take in a bombastic, fast-paced, lovingly-crafted shooting experience. Developed by the Warhammer 40,000 fanatical team at Streum0n Studios – they previously behind Space Hulk: Deathwing – Hired Gun will once again take us to a world in which gangs battle for outright survival rights.
Hunting down targets, upgrading guns and working with bionic augments will be the key to success in Necromunda: Hired Gun and by proving your skills in the battle, you’ll find bounties to cash in along the way. In fact, rinsing, repeating and rolling with picking your contracts, taking down your targets and reaping the rewards is what is at the heart of Hired Gun.
Running fast-paced and brutal gameplay giving you endless options on how to engage your enemies, in Necromunda: Hired Gun you’ll be found wall-running, double-jumping, and using your wrist-mounted grappling hook to rush towards, disarm, or avoid enemies – and that’s even before you’ve got involved in the upgrade system. You see, should you wish to, you’ll be able to enhance pretty much everything and anything – from your brain to your legs to your pet dog.
Yep, you’re reading that right – your pet dog. Your cyber-mastiff is your only true companion – half-dog, half-robot, and ready to kill for you in exchange for treats. He warns you of enemies, can insta-kill them with a bite to the neck, and generally watches your back. In return, you can keep him healthy with the best augments money can buy.
We urge you to take in the trailer below, particularly if you like a bit of Warhammer and were sold by the previous Necromunda title – Underhive Wars. From there, it may even be worth sticking a little pre-order in. It’s on the Xbox Store for just a smidge under £30 – when you consider that is with Xbox Series X|S Optimisation in tow, that ain’t bad at all.
