It’s been in Early Access/Game Preview form for no less than 14 months, but now, finally, Conan is fast approaching a full launch. As the release date is confirmed, one further trailer has dropped out of Funcom and this shows off the final product brilliantly.

Due to hit Xbox One, PS4 and PC on May 8th 2018 – both in physical and digital form – Conan Exiles is finally ready to shed its preview skin and break out into the big wide world.

After first hitting Early Access in January 2017, Conan Exiles is an open-world survival title that is, unsurprisingly, set in the brutal lands of Conan the Barbarian. If you should so dare, you’ll be found attempting to survive in a savage world, building up a kingdom, and dominating enemies with brutal combat and epic warfare.

Starting with nothing but your bare hands and you’ll get the chance to forge the legacy of your clan, building anything from a small home to gigantic fortresses and entire cities. Much of this will be centred around waging war using swords, bows, siege weapons, and even taking control of giant avatars of the gods in order to lay waste to enemy cities. The best thing about all this is that you’ll be able to do all of that in both single-player and persistent online multiplayer modes.

“We wanted to make sure leaving Early Access is something more than just removing the Early Access label and saying we’re done,” says Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “Besides being the first time it’s available on PlayStation 4, the launch of Conan Exiles brings with it a massive expansion of the game world, game-changing new features such as monster invasions known as the purge and an entirely new action-oriented combat system, as well as many other major additions that truly makes this the ultimate vision of Conan Exiles. If you were ever on the fence, or you are just discovering it for the first time, May 8th is the time to join the adventure.”

“Live. Love. Burn with life. Slay and survive” – so says Conan. Do you agree? Make sure you grab a copy come 8th May.
