You’d have forgiven Techland for dropping the content additions for Dying Light, what with the sequel out and going great guns and the original having now been out in the public domain for seven years. But still that new content for the original – and one of the best zombie games ever – continues to arrive, with Dying Light players today finding access to the Dieselpunk Bundle.
You may have come to Dying Light back in the day, or only just realised its greatness on the back of the release of Dying Light 2, but here and now that base game has been built out once more, this time with the Dieselpunk Bundle.
Priced at £2.49, this isn’t a game changer, but it is nice that Techland continue to support a game which many others may have decided is now a bit long in the tooth. But should you pay up the asking price, you’ll find some new gear present, available to use in Dying Light.
That gear comes in the form of a Chainsaw (the Gut Render), the Greaser SMG, a Fresh Ripper in the form of a Saw Blade, a new Outift – the Punk’d Beret – and a Rugged Roadster Buggy. The latter of these will ensure your all-important fuel usage is cut dramatically.
The promotional blurb for the Dying Light Dieselpunk Bundle is below and will be able to cover exactly what is included in further detail. Basically though, should you have a copy of the game on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC (and you should because it’s brilliant), then you should seriously be considering a purchase of the Dieselpunk Bundle.
Let us know if you decide to splash the cash.
Now, where’s that new content for Dying Light 2…
DLC Description:
In terms of military gear, Volkan’s without equal. Whenever you need quality equipment to fight zombies in the streets of Harran, you can be sure they’ll have your back. But their story began long before the infection has taken over the world. In the early 20th century, as Volkan Machines, they didn’t have much time to lounge about either, producing a variety of arms for the best of soldiers. Now, having been found years later, the weapons’ unique design and deadly effects will support your cause as well. From all the relics we found, one is like nothing you’ve fought with before. Make room for the Gut Render, your new chainsaw! Cutting through armor like a hot knife through butter, its deadliness hasn’t withered one bit since its heyday. Gut Render comes with a bleeding effect and an increased critical damage chance too, allowing you to throw a truly bloody spectacle for your foes. Though, if you’d rather tune it down a little, take a look at the Flesh Ripper. A bit more subtle, it combines all the finesse of a blade with the lethality of a saw and a moderate bleeding effect. But there are times when you might want to keep your hands clean(-er), and for all these moments, there’s the Greaser. Pick it up to add a little vintage twist to your act, and grease zombies like a regular with this old-school SMG. Now all you need is an appropriate outfit and something to drive around with all those weapons, right? Put on the Punk’d Beret set to match your arsenal, and jump into the new Rugged Roadster buggy! (Psst! You’ll save on fuel with its unique, economical perk!)
