New free and paid expansions roll out to Cities: Skylines as the World Tour continues

-

CITIES SKYLINES dlc

It’s been a big few weeks for the Paradox Interactive and and Colossal Order teams, building out the brilliant Cities: Skylines with a recent Remastered edition. But now comes some more DLC, with Content Creator Packs and Radio Stations allowing players to continue their world tour.

Available today for Cities: Skylines on Xbox, PlayStation and PC are three new Content Creator Packs, as well as a trio of Radio Stations. They are here to build out the base game even more, ahead of the much anticipated Cities: Skylines 2 sequel.

Cities: Skylines is perhaps the finest city-builder currently on Xbox. It’s a game that allows players to have complete control of what plays out, building up their towns and cities however they see fit. We loved the original game when it launched back in 2017, hyped even more by the recent new-gen version on Xbox Series X|S – it’s a game we hit with a 4.5/5 score, appreciative of the pick up and play nature, the incredible detail and the fantastic UI and controls.

But we always want more and today that’s what we get.

It’s the three Content Creator packs that are of most interest, as these whisk us off to African, to our favourite sports stadiums and to the shopping malls. Details of each as follows…

  • Africa in Miniature by Setonji “Prince Set” Hotonu opens up a new world of possibilities set in the African continent. This Content Creator Pack introduces 28 new buildings inspired by Africa’s diverse architecture, urban masterpieces, and vibrant colors.
  • Sports Venues by community modder BadPeanut includes everything you need to satisfy your City’s needs for sports: 12 stadiums spanning soccer, baseball, and football, and 10 additional community sports parks, if you like smaller crowds.
  • Shopping Malls by community modder KingLeno lets you bring your shopping experience to the next level. With more than 60 assets, including department stores, shopping plazas, and fast food restaurants, this is your one stop shop for all things malls.

And then there are the Radio Stations. Again, three is the magic number here, with the JADIA Radio Station front and centre. There are some 80’s Movies Tunes to accompany that, as well as a bit of pop-punk…

  • JADIA Radio Station (Just Another Day in Africa) is a collection of 16 tracks from musician Wan Shey who pays homage to his country’s musical traditions, adding new vibes to Cities: Skylines.
  • 80’s Movies Tunes is inspired by the 80’s classics, with more than 15 tracks and around 70 minutes of music.
  • Pop-Punk Radio is for all the pop-punk city builders out there who wear their hearts on their sleeves, even if the sleeves are cut off. Rock out with 16 tracks and more than 75 minutes of powerful, high-beat tunes.

Further to that comes the free update of Hubs and Transport, something which improves the transportation systems in place.

You should be finding the new Content Creator and Radio Station packs present and correct from today. You’ll obviously need the base game on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. Let us send you the way of the Xbox Store for a game download.
