Looking to make the most of your Game Pass subscription? This week sees a couple of new games land on the service, both of which are very nearly must-players.
Set to releases into the Game Pass wilds on June 3rd will be the mad adventures of Journey to the Savage Planet, as well as the hard-hitting Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. Are either of them as tempting to the gaming masses as that of EA FC 24 that recently got added to the subscription service? Probably not, but if you ask us, both are better ‘games’.
Journey to the Savage Planet
Journey to the Savage Planet will welcome you to Kindred Aerospace, the 4th best interstellar exploration company!
It’s here where you’re tasked with determining if the strange planet – ARY-26 – can house humanity. And you’ll find that out by exploring the wacky flora and fauna, from bizarre birds to questionable plants, all while avoiding… well, giant alien orifices.
You’ll have some cool tools to hand too – like a laser pistol and a jetpack – but the finest adventurers will rely on the 3D printer to turn space trash into even better gear. Uncover hidden mysteries as you explore, and who knows, you might even find the legendary “festering butthole” – sure signs you’re on the right track.
The best things about Journey to the Savage Planet? You can team up with a friend (if you have one) for this wild exploration adventure. The next best thing? It’s on Game Pass so neither of you have to pay a single penny of cash.
Still not sold? Let our full review of Journey to the Savage Planet tempt you in even more. A 4.5/5 review score shouldn’t be ignored…
“Journey to the Savage Planet on Xbox is an amazing game – there are no two ways about it. It plays fast and fluidly, the enemies are challenging to kill (especially the bosses) and with a beautifully scripted, humorous thread of story running through it’s been a joy to play.”
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
A savage planet not to your liking? Get involved in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 instead.
The ultimate Nickelodeon brawl is back and better than ever as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 throws down with a massive roster of iconic characters, including SpongeBob, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even Squidward Tentacles.
This one will let you choose your favourite brawler and master their unique moves as you unleash devastating cinematic Supers to dominate your opponents.
You’ll get to fight alongside friends or tackle a challenging roguelike campaign to stop Vlad Plasmius from conquering the Nickverse!
As a sequel, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 explodes with all-new gameplay, featuring revamped visuals, audio, animations, and more. New stages, modes, and mechanics add depth for players of all skill levels.
We were mighty impressed by this brawler when we reviewed Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
“Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a fun and enjoyable brawling-style game. Better than Smash Bros? No, but the gap is closer than ever, and that means this is the next best thing on the Xbox.”
More to come to Game Pass
Expect to find both Journey to the Savage Planet and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 on Game Pass as June 3rd rolls around.
There’s more to come too. The week of July 8th adds four new games to Game Pass, in the form of Cricket 24, The Case of the Golden Idol, Neon White (Day One addition, that!) and Tchia. The week after that (July 15th) then adds Magical Delicacy and Flock.
