The shadows over Aeternum have deepened, and a realm hidden for generations has finally revealed its secrets.

Amazon Games today launches New World: Aeternum Season 10: Nighthaven. This massive, free update is live today, October 13th, for all players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and it brings a mysterious new zone, a new story, a brand-new game mode, and a challenging 10-player raid to the ever-evolving world.

This huge drop of content is designed to reshape the journey for all players, from newcomers to seasoned veterans, with a particular focus on evolving the endgame experience.

Another Reason to Get Hooked on Aeternum

When we first set foot in Aeternum, we were hugely impressed by its scale and ambition. In our 4/5 review of the base game, we called it a “brilliantly realised world that has enough tricks up its sleeve to keep you hooked.

This new Nighthaven update is a perfect example of the developer building on that brilliantly realised world, adding a slew of new content and systems that are sure to get their hooks into players all over again.

Welcome to Nighthaven

The headline feature of Season 10 is the introduction of a brand-new, mysterious zone for players to explore.

Nighthaven is a land where the dark holds sway over the light. It’s a realm of haunting woods, mighty castles, and stories of monstrous creatures. You will need to discover the secrets hidden in the shadows of its ruins and catacombs to confront the threats that endanger not only its people but the whole of Aeternum.

A new story, The Tear of Gaea, begins with this update. Following the events of the Elysian Wilds, Morgaine’s Tear has gone missing. You must search through ageless ruins to find the missing artifact and uncover the truth of what is happening in this isolated and reclusive land.

New Dungeons, New Raids, New Battlefields

Season 10 introduces a host of new, challenging group content for players to conquer.

A brand-new game mode, Catacombs, has been added. This is a new 3-player co-op mode that plunges you into the depths of a procedurally generated dungeon. You’ll battle a wide variety of enemies and bosses, gain unique mode-specific power-ups, and race against the clock to cleanse your treasures before time runs out.

For those seeking the ultimate challenge, the Isle of Night is a new 10-person endgame raid. Set in a once-magnificent kingdom whose inhabitants have now fallen Lost, this raid features three new bosses, multiple new enemy types, and a host of set-piece encounters that will demand high-level gear and tight coordination to succeed.

PvP fans are also getting a new battlefield. The Tower is a new 20v20 Outpost Rush map that has players fighting across three vertical layers of a dark castle, from its commanding heights to its corrupted depths below.

A Revamped Endgame

A key focus of this update is a complete overhaul of the endgame progression systems. Nighthaven brings with it numerous game-wide changes to progression, gearing, and rewards. The goal of these changes is to create a more connected experience that motivates a variety of play in endgame activities and allows players to customize their loadouts in new and powerful ways.

The call to adventure in Aeternum has been sounded once more, and this time, it echoes from a dark and hidden land. With a massive new zone to explore, a challenging new raid to conquer, and a completely revamped endgame, there has never been a better time to be a hero of Aeternum. The update is free and live today.

Just make sure you have a copy of the base game, whether that be on Xbox via the Xbox Store, or PlayStation or PC.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
