Ctrl Alt Ego – now on Xbox and PlayStation

A game like no other – Ctrl Alt Ego releases on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Thought you’d played every single game type? Think again because Klabater and MindThunk are here, delivering Ctrl Alt Ego to Xbox and PlayStation. And they are selling it as ‘a game like no other’.

Now on console

We’ll find out in our full review of Ctrl Alt Ego on Xbox as to whether that statement hold up, but before then you may be tempted in to what it offers.

Available right now on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, this plays as a unique blend, a hybrid of open-ended puzzling, first-person exploration and creative puzzle-solving. And all of that is broughts together by a mystery about the nature of consciousness.

Sounds weird huh? Well, it is, but it’s also extremely intriguing.

It gets madder!

Dive in and you’ll find that Ctrl Alt Ego places you in control of Ego, a disembodied conscious being who finds themselvs stuck on a space station. It’s this place which you must navigate, but with no physical form, that could well be tricky. For god then for the opportunity to transmit yourself through items, between robots, across devices. Each and every one of those will help you out.

Running a price of £20.99, Ctrl Alt Ego will challenge your gaming skills in a variety of ways. Much of that will be done through innovative mechanics, as the non-linear world delivers old-school sci-fi feels. And you’ll get to play however you like too; stealthy, all-action, a mix – the choice is yours.

Buy now!

With Very Positive reviews gathered on Steam since Ctrl Alt Ego first launched back in 2022, it makes sense to consider this one for console play.

You’ll find Ctrl Alt Ego on Xbox available through the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox Series X|S. This is a game that makes the most of current-gen tech and as such you cannot play on Xbox One.

PlayStation 5 players will discover a similar download from their store.

Ctrl Alt Ego Description

Prepare to experience a game like no other. Ctrl Alt Ego is a unique hybrid that blends open-ended puzzling, first-person exploration, and creative problem-solving – all wrapped in a captivating mystery about the nature of consciousness. You play as a disembodied ‘Ego’, a conscious being who awakens on a mysterious space station. With no physical form, you must navigate this strange world by transmitting yourself between robots and devices, each with their own unique capabilities. Exploit the game’s innovative mechanics to tackle challenges in your own way. Whether you prefer a stealthy approach, a more direct action-oriented style, or a creative mix of both – the choice is yours. There’s no one right way to play Ctrl Alt Ego.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
