A City Built On Secrets
The world of Cyl-Hestia is the sort of place where nobody tells the full truth.
Built around a mysterious blue flame known as Cerulyn, the city-state is controlled by authorities desperate to maintain power, even if that means burying the past entirely. Players step into the shoes of Silas, a ‘memorialist’ working for an independent newspaper called The Voice, piecing together lost memories in an attempt to expose what’s really happening beneath the surface.
But instead of utilising traditional detective mechanics, Nocturne for Cyl-Hestia revolves around gathering Memory Records from the city’s inhabitants, combining fragments together to reconstruct events and uncover hidden truths. And that means the deeper you dig, the more dangerous things become.
Piecing Together The Truth
What makes it particularly interesting is how discoveries actively shape the world around you. Every article published by The Voice increases pressure on the city itself. Surveillance tightens. Tensions rise. People start paying attention. The regime pushes back.
That gives the investigation side of the game a bit more weight than simply solving puzzles for the sake of progression. There’s a feeling that actions genuinely ripple across the city.
