It was back in August 2018 when the roguelite brawling adventure of Sparklite was first announced, but today, a few months down the line, a brand new teaser trailer has been released. If you fancy getting all nostalgic, then you’ll want to give it a little watch.
Coming in the build up to GDC, where Sparklite will be featured as part of the Microsoft showing, the latest teaser trailer is well worth taking in, especially should you be excited by what the game will bring in the Fall of 2019.
Dropping onto Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, Sparklite will be delivering a mix of roguelite, brawling and adventure, as it takes inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Rogue Legacy while still managing to create an identity all its own. This will see you getting involved with a variety of foes, as you take to the action in a top-down style, utilising an array of gadgets, guns and gear in the process. With a highly dangerous world to take in, and many titans of the mining industry to take down, you’ll have to fast discover what is needed in order to save Sparklite.
About Sparklite:
Everything in the world is tied together by Sparklite… it’s the life force of the planet, and the inhabitants have learned how to channel it for their own gain. It can be harnessed, or it can be consumed for a surge of power with grave consequences. The “Baron” has devised a plot to mine the world’s Sparklite core. He mines Sparklite and burns/consumes it to fuel his powerful war machines, but the pollution from the consumed Sparklite is corrupting the world. Animals have turned to violent monsters, and the environment is rotting away. But the world has a natural defense in its Sparklite core. Periodically, the core causes a Disruption which rearranges the world, setting back the Baron’s efforts. If the Baron can obtain the core, he will gain the power to create a new world where he has ultimate power. Our hero, Ada, must travel to each zone of the world to shut down its Digsite, lowering the Baron’s defenses so that she can stop him before it’s too late…
We’ll be sure to keep you fully updated as to the progress of Sparklite, and once a confirmed Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC release date other than Fall 2019 is known, we’ll bring it to you. For now though, should you be rocking a capable PC, you can add Sparklite to your Steam wish list.
Don’t forget to take in the trailer below.
