The global K-pop sensation NewJeans are definitely not Super Shy as they’re front and centre for the latest themed event in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. And now that I have your Attention, let’s take a lookie and see what assortment of sweet goodies you can get your hands on.
The collaboration between the battle royale offering PUBG and South Korean girl group NewJeans has officially begun on console. Having previously partnered with BLACKPINK, incorporating one of the hottest new musical acts shows that publishers Krafton Inc. are not resting on their laurels. NewJeans have taken over the Taego map and brought a whole host of other new items into the mix.
Taego has been completely transformed into a NewJeans wonderland, with the school playground now set up like an actual stage. Here you can dance using emotes as well as enjoy a selection of NewJeans hits including ‘OMG’, ‘Super Shy’, ‘Bubble Gum’, ‘Ditto’, and more.
Continuing the musical delights, certain buildings have become music shops kitted out with a functioning jukebox, posters and album covers. If you’re going to die, it makes sense to do so whilst performing the point dance to an absolute banger, right?
Expect to see bunnies populating the aforementioned school and stores, with billboards and buses prevalent across the whole of Taego. Almost everything else as part of the collaboration theme is available on all the maps. I’m talking about things like specially designed energy drinks and care packages, NewJeans vehicle music, plane banners and special effects before dropping onto the battlefield.
A raft of craftable items are also available in the workshop until 23rd July on console. Use in-game tokens to create cute weapon skins as well as costume sets and sprays for each of the band members – Danielle, Haerin, Hanni, Hyein, and Minji. Of course, Loot Caches and Emote Packs are in the store too, looking to empty your wallet of G-Coins. And should you wish to not spend anything, completing various missions can earn cool rewards without costing anything.
