One Button Games 5 in 1 Volume 7 – now on Xbox

There’s no doubt that the simplest ideas are the hardest to put down. One button, one objective and one tiny mistake can be all it takes to send you back to the start. That’s exactly the formula behind One Button Games 5-in-1 Vol. 7, the latest collection of minimalist arcade challenges from Xitilon.

Volume 7 of the One Button games comes to console, bringing another batch of five deceptively addictive score-chasing games to Xbox.

Available now for Xbox Series X|S (Optimised), Xbox One and Windows PC in separate versions, with three separate Achievement lists, the latest volume is priced at ÂŁ4.19.

Five New Games, One Simple Control Scheme

As the title suggests, every game in the collection can be played using just a single button, but each one twists that limitation into something completely different.

This latest volume includes:

Up Shot – Run endlessly to the right while blocks rain down from above. Stop to fire upwards and destroy them, but standing still leaves you vulnerable. Bigger blocks take multiple hits, making every decision a balancing act between offence and survival.

Smily Angry – Two floating faces fire projectiles your way, constantly switching between friendly and hostile moods. Collect shots from the smiling face while steering clear of the angry one if you want to keep your score climbing.

V Bomb – Pilot an aircraft that continually sweeps across the screen while enemy bombers fill the skies below. Time your turns carefully, avoid deadly explosions and even lure enemies into their own chain reactions.

Pin Climb – Stretch your reach to climb higher and rack up points, but don’t let the pins below catch up with you. It’s another simple idea that quickly becomes a serious test of timing.

Number Line – Perhaps the most unusual game of the five, Number Line has you managing moving rows of numbers, pressing the button at the right moment to keep the top total ahead of the bottom one before both lines collide.

A Series That Keeps Rolling Along

This is now the seventh entry in Xitilon’s One Button Games series, with each volume introducing another handful of compact arcade experiences built around a single control input.

We’ve covered every release so far, and while the individual mini-games naturally vary in quality, the collections have carved out their own niche among players looking for quick-fire sessions, leaderboard chasing and, for achievement hunters, another approachable completion.

If you’ve enjoyed the previous six volumes, Vol. 7 delivers exactly what you’d expect – five more ideas proving that you don’t need a complicated control scheme to create an engaging arcade challenge.

Ready For Another High-Score Chase?

At just ÂŁ4.19, One Button Games 5-in-1 Vol. 7 continues the series’ tradition of offering bite-sized arcade gameplay that is easy to pick up but considerably harder to master. It’s available now on Xbox Series X|S (Optimised), Xbox One and Windows PC through the Xbox Store.

Stay tuned for our review thoughts.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
