It’s difficult to know where to start with Bandai Namco’s plethora of reveals for their upcoming action-adventure game, One Piece: World Seeker. There’s a brand new trailer, the unveiling of the awesome Collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses, and the announcement of the launch date. Let’s get stuck into the trailer first…
We now know that we’ll be able to seamlessly traverse the world using Luffy’s acrobatic Gum-Gum fruit abilities, but it also introduces us to Luffy’s two main action modes – his Haki powers. The first, the strength-based Arm Haki, focuses on raw power, allowing Luffy to use overwhelming force to defeat his opponents. The second one is an Observation Haki, and this allows Luffy to slow down time, whilst improving his sneaking prowess at the same time with stealth attacks and the ability to see enemies and such through walls. Luffy’s incredibly powerful Gear Fourth mode is revealed for the first time too, giving players access to powerful new combat skills and traversal techniques for a short time.
The latest footage also provides an initial look at the Skill Tree and Crafting/Cooking mechanics you can expect to find. Luffy will be granted Skill Points by completing missions and progressing through the game, enabling players to upgrade his powers and abilities via the Skill Tree to suit their own play style. The crafting is accessed via Usopp or Franky – two of Luffy’s Straw Hat Pirate Crew – who can put the items and materials found by Luffy in the world to good use by creating new equipment, while Sanji can cook Lunch Boxes for the rest of the crew; the latter of which lets them to explore the islands and gather additional resources for players.
Moving onto The Pirate King Collector’s edition of the game and here’s a full list of what is included in the package should you wish to go for this luxury offering:
