A legendary samurai saga is set to make its grand return! Capcom has officially unveiled Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a brand-new entry in the beloved action-adventure franchise.

Prepare to journey back to feudal Japan, where the clash between samurai and the supernatural takes centre stage.

A Legacy Forged in Steel

The Onimusha series, known for its blend of historical accuracy and captivating storytelling, first captured the hearts of gamers in 2001. The games’ unique combat system, featuring the satisfying “Issen” counterattack mechanic, and its intriguing narratives inspired by Japanese folklore and historical events, quickly established Onimusha as a fan favourite.

Now, after nearly two decades, the franchise is back to reclaim its place in the pantheon of samurai action games.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword transports players to the early Edo period, where a sinister force known as Malice has cast a shadow over the ancient city of Kyoto. Demonic creatures, the Genma, have infiltrated the city, wreaking havoc and threatening the fragile peace.

A lone samurai, armed with the mystical Oni Gauntlet, stands as the last line of defense against this supernatural threat.

The announcement trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword offers a tantalizing glimpse into the game’s world and combat.
