Override: Mech City Brawl announced for Xbox One, PS4 and PC

Best of 2025

Ever wanted to punch your friends in the face? Well, Override: Mech City Brawl doesn’t quite allow you to do that, but you will get to smack their giant robot faces until you can hit no more!

Override: Mech City Brawl is heading to Xbox One, PS4 and PC this December thanks to a collaboration between the developers, The Balance Inc., and Modus Games who will be publishing. In fact, it’ll be here on December 4th 2018, allowing you the opportunity to go head-to head with your friends in a 3D mech-based party brawler.

Should you wish to get involved upon release, you’ll find a game that sees you piloting your very own mech, before pitting them up against other enormous robots in fully-destructible arenas, all of which have been modelled on real world locations like San Francisco, Egypt, Mexico, and Japan.

Coming complete with 12 different mechs to pilot, you’ll soon discover that each is equipped with a completely different playstyle and special move, ensuring that only those who get to grips with multiple mechs will turn out as the eventual winner. You can also fully custom your bots should you so wish.

Features include:

  • Duke it out in 1v1 or 2v2 brawls
  • Unleash total chaos in 4-person free-for-all
  • Team up in 2 to 4-player party co-op – where each player controls one part of a skyscraper-sized mech
  • Go it alone in the single-player campaign

Those who wish to get in on the action a little earlier can do so by checking out the closed beta which will be running between the 10th-12th August. If that is your bag, then make sure you sign up at www.overridegame.com right now.

You should also be able to find a pre-order system for Override is kicking off today. The Super Charged Mega Edition includes the Season Pass, delivering 4 extra mechs and 16 new skins post-launch, as well as instant access to 12 legendary skins normally unlocked in the Standard Edition. Override: Mech City Brawl arrives on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 4th, 2018 for £29.99 for the Super Charged Mega Edition and £24.99 for the digital-only Standard Edition.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
