Releasing on multiple platforms (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4) including going straight onto Xbox Game Pass now, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action RPG developed by Team NINJA.Â
It’s not the biggest title to have debuted on Xbox Game Pass this week, but today marks the arrival of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 to the service. If you’ve been considering getting on board, now may be the time. We’re impressed that you can fit it around Halo Infinite.
Samurai Warriors 5 is no doubt the best iteration of the mainline series, be it Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors (or even the Warriors Orochi spin-off). As it stands right now, this is as good as it gets for the Warriors series. It has a lot of ideas and systems which integrate in an interesting way, and the core gameplay is as fun as ever. The only caveat here is that the core gameplay loop present feels no different to that which we’ve experienced for the last two decades, and inevitably it will run thin.
It’s quite clear Bandai Namco have been on a roll since the beginning of 2020 with their anime-inspired releases, both in terms of quality and quantity. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot got them off to a flyer, before One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows and My Hero One’s Justice 2 further delivered solid experiences. There’s room for yet another major anime and manga series to get its chance to shine now though; step forward One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4. Can this fourth instalment, and the first to launch on Xbox One, continue the recent trend by being a game to treasure?
Visual pop-in and map confusion aside, this game is a great deal of fun, and with so many characters to choose from finding your ideal team has never been so challenging. If you have enjoyed the previous games in the series, then this is a no brainer, but if you haven't then Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate could well be the stepping stone you need.
It may have taken KOEI TECMO five years or so to deliver the next installment in the WARRIORS OROCHI series with WARRIORS OROCHI 4 but it seems that they certainly aren't done there as today the Ultimate Edition has rocked up, pushing on with new stories and game modes.
Down with the Warriors Orochi series? Fancy getting yourself involved with a thrilling new entry? Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is coming - and it'll be hitting Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC in the early stages of 2020.
