Physical Signature Edition announced for Streets of Rage 4

-

The seminal beat ‘em up series is about to get even more physical with a couple of retail and Signature editions of Streets of Rage 4 coming very soon!

Having made a triumphant return to home consoles, including on Xbox One and through Xbox Game Pass, the Streets of Rage series is one that many 90’s gamers will instantly recognise, and hopefully this new instalment will be bringing in a lot of newer fans to the series. For the more ‘traditional’ gamers (ie. older) that still haven’t grasped the whole digital download revolution, you will be pleased to know there are physical editions on their way. And soon.

First up, on the 24th July 2020 will be a standard retail release priced at £29.99. Containing not only the game, but a few extra goodies including a keyring of the Streets of Rage 4 logo, art book and a reversible cover. For a game already jam-packed with nostalgia, a few little extras make this an even sweeter deal.

Then, for those looking for a bit of extra Streets of Rage merch there is also a Signature Edition incoming, with pre-orders available right now. Signature Editions have previously released special limited editions of Frostpunk and Northgard, so Streets of Rage 4 is in more than capable hands with the team at Signature Editions and Merge Games.

I bet you want to know what’s included though don’t you? Well, in the Streets of Rage 4 Signature Edition you get everything included in the standard physical release – game, reversible cover, artbook and keyring – but you also get five enamel pins featuring classic characters Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding and Adam Hunter, and series newcomers Cherry Hunter and Floyd Iraia. Not only that but you also get a numbered art card and certificate with developer’s signatures printed on, a replica of Axel Stone’s iconic blue bandana and finally an original soundtrack of Streets of Rage featuring a whopping 35 tracks. Considering some of the great Japanese composers have contributed including Yūzō Koshiro, Motohiro Kawashima and Yoko Simomura this is an excellent addition.

All this comes housed in a ‘big box’ style package with the game’s main art emblazoned on the front. Perhaps best of all is the price: Signature Games pride themselves on special editions for collectors at affordable price points and Streets of Rage 4 is no exception. This bumper package will only set you back £44.99.

Pre-orders for both this Signature Edition and standard edition are open now by visiting the Signature Editions website. This Signature version is set to release sometime in the summer; there is no concrete release date yet.

Don’t forget, Streets of Rage 4 is currently on Xbox Game Pass and we have a review incoming very soon! You’ll also find it on PS4 and Nintendo Switch should you prefer those options. For now though, hit us up in the comments section and tell us what your favourite piece of the Signature Edition is. Can’t beat that soundtrack for me!
