2026's Best Games

necromunda hired gun xbox

If you’re a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, then there are many options open to you; the most recent ones being Necromunda: Underhive Wars, Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition or Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. But perhaps none of them are as intense, as brutal and as fast-paced as Necromunda: Hired Gun.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC, with full Xbox Series X|S optimisation in tow, Necromunda: Hired Gun is the latest Warhammer experience to join the gaming world.

It’s priced at £32.99 and will throw you into the life of a hired gun looking to make their mark on a world that is full of hostility and crime. Set in the ecosystem of Necromunda, Hired Gun will give you the opportunity to pick your contracts, hunt your targets and take home the cash rewards as you work your way through the darkest depths of Warhammer’s most infamous hive city.

In Necromunda: Hired Gun, anything is possible, at least for the right price, as you look to harness the powers of a sprawling arsenal of weapons, and utilise a variety of highly customisable augments in order to take down some of the universe’s most notorious mutants. With a grappling hook to hand for getting out of the tightest spots when the time calls for it, and a delightful cyber-mastiff running loyally by your side, the options are huge in Hired Gun.

Should you be in the market for a game that will think nothing of letting you get loose with a range of options, Necormunda: Hired Gun could well be it. You’ll find it available from the digital stores for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Our full review will be along in the days ahead too – keep an eye out as we delve into the depths of Warhammer to discover whether a purchase of Necromunda: Hired Gun on Xbox is worthy of your time.

If you do decide the life of this hired gun is one you wish to embark on, you may also wish to consider a purchase of the additional DLC pack that has accompanied the base game at launch. The Hunter’s Bounty Pack for £2.49 offers up pretty much everything you could ever need in order to ensure you are looking good as you go into hell. It adds in unique cosmetics for your knife, stub gun and outfit, whilst a new mastiff chew toy will sort out your best friend.

Game Description:

Pick your contracts. Hunt your targets. Collect the bounty. Navigate an ocean of crime and corruption to balance the bloody ecosystem of Necromunda as a merciless hired gun. The money’s good, the dog’s loyal, and the gun’s reliable – but can you survive the hunt? Necromunda: Hired Gun is an indie fast-paced, violent, and thrilling FPS set in the darkest reaches of Warhammer 40,000’s most infamous hive city. For the right price, eliminate the most notorious gangers and mutants. Your armory is a sprawling arsenal. Your body is enhanced with a dozen customizable augments to run on walls and leap over chasms. Your cyber-mastiff will sniff out and kill enemies for you, while your grappling hook allows quick, agile traversal of the massive environments.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
