The Samurai Quest – out now

The path of the samurai is one of skill, precision, and exploration, and a new game on Xbox is ready to put your abilities to the test. Can you handle The Samurai Quest?

The Samurai Quest is another one of those 2D pixel art platformers, this time from developer Fabrizio Q. Abreu and publisher Fa Games. It has launched on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the good old PC.

This challenging adventure can be yours with prices starting at just ÂŁ4.19.

Embark on The Samurai Quest

Prepare to take on the role of an agile and skilled samurai, facing down traps, enemies, and demanding obstacles in search of hidden collectibles.

In The Samurai Quest, you’ll traverse a world presented in a stylish retro look, where your goal in each of its 30 progressively challenging levels is to prove your mastery of both platforming and exploration.

The core objective in each stage is to find and collect 10 hidden ninja stars. Only once all ten have been gathered will the exit door unlock, allowing you to advance. This encourages thorough exploration and keen attention to detail in every corner of the Japanese-inspired environments.

Sword, Dash, and Dodge

This isn’t just a simple treasure hunt. The levels are filled with varied traps and enemies that you must overcome using your quick reflexes and strategic thinking.

You’ll need to master the smooth movement of your samurai, utilising sword combat to dispatch foes and a crucial dash ability to avoid traps and cross treacherous platforms.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
