Prepare to return to the stunning, cinematic world of Novo with Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf.

Developer Wishfully Studios and publisher Thunderful have officially announced Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf, the highly anticipated sequel to their award-winning puzzle adventure.

The new journey is set to launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, and will be available with Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Unveiled with a beautiful new trailer, this sequel promises to take the beloved duo of Lana and her loyal companion Mui on a new adventure that is both deeper and more challenging than their first.

The Journey We Needed to Play

We were completely captivated by the original Planet of Lana. In our 4.5/5 review, we called it “a hugely immersive adventure you need to play,” praising it as “a supremely well told tale that comes complete with brilliant visuals and an orchestral soundscape to die for.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf looks to build on that incredible foundation, continuing the story of a girl and her companion in a world that has touched players across the globe.

An Ancient Mystery, A Deeper Story

In this new chapter, an ancient mystery emerges from the hidden depths of the planet Novo. As Lana and Mui begin to investigate, a new threat appears that will put their unbreakable bond to the ultimate test.

The game promises a longer and more profound sci-fi saga, forcing Lana to confront her own demons as she unravels the planet’s darkest secrets across stunning new worlds, including all-new underwater chapters.

Evolved Gameplay, Tougher Challenges

While retaining the core of what made the original special, Wishfully Studios is evolving the gameplay to create a more dynamic and challenging experience.

  • Evolved Companion Gameplay: The profound bond between Lana and Mui is deeper than ever. You will guide Mui with enhanced precision, allowing for more intricate collaborative puzzle-solving and exploration.
  • Diverse & Clever Puzzles: The sequel features a wider array of physics-based puzzles, introducing new mechanics like hypnotising spectacular creatures and controlling new hybrid robots to find unique solutions.
  • Refined Stealth & Action: Carefully navigate dangerous situations with refined stealth mechanics and tactical wit. To survive more thrilling and dynamic action sequences, you’ll need to master Lana’s new agility, which includes wall jumps, run-slides, and faster movement.

A Word from the Creators

The team at Wishfully is excited to continue the journey that began with their debut title.

In the past few years, we’ve been honored to see how Planet of Lana has touched players worldwide, from its cinematic world to its heartwarming story and action-packed gameplay,” said Adam Stjärnljus, creative director at Wishfully. “Our team learned a lot from creating the first game and we always knew that Lana and Mui’s story wasn’t over, so we’ve created a whole new adventure for players, packed with creative puzzle sequences and surprises around every corner. We can’t wait for players to join our dynamic duo once again, and unravel the mysteries of Novo’s world.

Adding to the cinematic feel, the critically acclaimed composer of the original game, Takeshi Furukawa, is returning to score the sequel, promising another mesmerizing soundtrack to elevate every emotional moment.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is shaping up to be a thoughtful and ambitious evolution of a modern classic.

You can prepare for the next chapter before their new journey begins on Xbox Game Pass in 2026. The Xbox Store page is up.
