It’s rare that the smallest of indie games find themselves expanded with new content. But Hidden Through Time is unlike many of those indie games. This is a game that is highly relaxing, well created and full of colour. It’s also a game that has continued to be expanded upon since launch – and yet again a couple more DLC packs pop up to push things further.
Having first releases back in 2020, Hidden Through Time has been drawing players in with the intrigue and hidden object nature that it allows. A Where’s Wally styled video game in which you’ll be found scouring the most detailed of worlds in order to discover secrets, it’s a game that manages to tick a whole ton of boxes. In fact, a 4/5 review from us only saw it taken down a notch due to a lack of themes.
Since then those themes have arrived. We’ve previously had the chance to take in some Viking Tales, to discover the Legends of Japan and to travel the Road to Rome. But now it’s all about the treasure that await in the new Pirate Treasures and Aztec Rituals packs.
Both are priced at a mere £1.69 so Hidden Through Time is highly unlikely to ever break the bank. But what you are getting in each pack is seemingly jam packed with content.
Pirate Treasures whisks you off to the high seas as you head off on an adventure of a lifetime. Setting sail through ten new levels will mean that no less than 300 new pirate themed objects and characters will be integrated into your base game. From there, the chase for real gold kicks in as you go deep on the hunt for all things shiny.
The Aztec Rituals pack accompanies this. This one puts you slap bang in the centre of a completely different era, all as you work the swamps, climb the highest mountains and take in the greatness of Tenochtitlan. Again, expect ten new levels and upwards of 300 odd characters and objects, all of which can be used in the level editor should you so wish.
Should you have the base game of Hidden Through Time and fancy dropping back into it every now and then, then the new additions of the Aztec Rituals and Pirate Treasures pack should be considered.
