Beast of Reincarnation – coming to Game Pass

In one of the biggest reveals of the Xbox Showcase, Game Freak, the legendary Japanese studio behind the global phenomenon Pokémon, has officially unveiled a bold new action-adventure title: Beast of Reincarnation.

In a massive piece of news for subscribers, the game is confirmed to be launching day one with Xbox Game Pass in 2026.

Partnering with the newly announced publisher Fictions, Game Freak debuted a breathtaking new trailer for the title, previously teased as Project Bloom.

The game is scheduled to release in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.

A World Away from Pokémon

Beast of Reincarnation transports players to a stunningly atmospheric, post-apocalyptic Japan. This is a far cry from the colourful fields of Kanto; here, players will step into the role of Emma the Sealer, who, along with her faithful canine companion Koo, must journey through a corrupted world.

Their quest is to confront the source of this decay and save what’s left of humanity from total extinction.

The new trailer showcases a blend of exploration through beautiful, ruined landscapes and intense, action-packed combat, promising a deep and engaging adventure directed by Kota Furushima.

Published by the Newcomer, Fictions

This major new title is being brought to the world by Fictions, a new game publisher founded by a collection of game developers and craft experts.

Their mission is to support and champion unique games and the creative minds behind them. Beast of Reincarnation joins LEGO Party! as one of the first titles in Fictions’ growing and diverse portfolio.

It’s incredible to be working with Game Director Furushima-san and the renowned development team at Game Freak. We greatly value their continued collaboration and trust,” said Mika Kurasawa, Executive Producer at Fictions. “We are so excited to show players a glimpse into the stunning world and intense combat of Beast of Reincarnation.

A New Legacy for Game Freak?

For decades, Game Freak has been synonymous with the Pokémon series, a franchise that has sold over 333 million units worldwide. While the company has developed other titles, Beast of Reincarnation represents one of its most ambitious and high-profile new IPs to date.

It’s an exciting opportunity for fans to see the world-class development talent at Game Freak apply their skills to a completely new, more mature, and action-oriented universe.

With its stunning art direction, intriguing premise, and the massive news of a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass, Beast of Reincarnation has instantly become one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
