PowerWash Simulator 2 – new features unveiled

That satisfying ding of a job well done is about to get a whole lot more vertical.

FuturLab has unleashed a sparkling, action-packed new gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated PowerWash Simulator 2, revealing a host of brand-new mechanics that will take the ultimate cleaning adventure to thrilling new heights.

From rappelling down walls to discovering multi-stage messes and petting your adorable feline friends, the world of satisfyingly clean surfaces is getting bigger, better, and even muckier.

Taking Cleaning to New Heights

The biggest reveal in the new trailer is the introduction of true verticality. No longer will you be bound to the ground; new features will have you cleaning from every angle imaginable.

  • Abseiling – It’s time to strap into your harness. With the new abseiling mechanic, you can take a ride on a mechanised pulley system, smoothly moving up, down, and across large walls and structures. This brings a whole new level of control for tackling those towering jobs, offering the ultimate rock-climbing, window-cleaning experience.
  • Scissor Lift – For those hard-to-reach corners and crevices, the new Scissor Lift is your best friend. This allows you to elevate yourself to new heights and target precise, stubborn patches of grime with pinpoint accuracy.

The Dirt Runs Deeper

The jobs themselves are also getting more complex too, with new tools and new surprises hidden beneath the muck.

  • Multi-stage Messes – Just when you think you’re done, the grime fights back. PowerWash Simulator 2 introduces multi-stage jobs, where cleaning one area can reveal a brand-new, even dirtier area to tackle mid-wash. The trailer teases the dreaded Public Restroom, where scrubbing the roof might just summon a secret toilet rising from the depths of dirt, exposing even grosser grime than ever before.
  • The Surface Cleaner – For those large, flat areas, a new tool is joining your arsenal. The “SwirlForce Surf Ace” is an impressive cleaning companion featuring a disc fitted with swirling nozzles, making it perfect for cleaning parking lots and tiled floors swiftly and methodically.

Home is Where the Clean Is

When you’re not out on a job, you can relax and customise your own personal space.

  • Home Base Customisation – Think less Antiques Roadshow, more PowerWash Interiors. A new home base customisation feature will allow you to purchase and restore well-loved antique furniture, transforming it from mucky to magnificent and proudly displaying it in your base.
  • Cat Companions – You’re not alone in your new home. Ulysses and their lovable kittens, Bubbles & Squeak, are now permanent residents who will happily join you on every cleaning job. And yes, you can pet the cats. In fact, they expect nothing less.

Building on a Sparkling Foundation

We’ve been eagerly awaiting more details since we first covered the game’s announcement back in March, and these new features build upon an already packed foundation.

The game will still feature the satisfying soap-spraying gameplay fans love, alongside split-screen and online co-op, and a full 38-job career mode. You can also look forward to tackling an eclectic mix of new environments, from mini rollercoasters and shooting galleries to rock-climbing parks and roadside motels.

The ultimate cleaning adventure just got a serious upgrade. It’s time to check your nozzles, fill your soap tanks, and get ready to wash away the grime of the world in a whole new way when PowerWash Simulator 2 launches for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC in late 2025.

And if you can’t wait, just go and play the original, rather brilliant, PowerWash Simulator. We love it!
