PRAGMATA – now available

It’s been a long time coming, but PRAGMATA has finally touched down. First revealed years ago and quietly building intrigue ever since, Capcom’s mysterious new IP now arrives in full – bringing with it a striking sci-fi setting, a unique duo, and a story that’s been worth the wait.

Available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, PRAGMATA launches with a £49.99 Standard Edition and a £59.99 Deluxe Edition for those looking to dig a little deeper into its world.

At A Glance

  • Game: PRAGMATA
  • Developer/Publisher: Capcom
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC (Steam)
  • Price: £49.99 (Standard Edition) / £59.99 (Deluxe Edition)
  • Game Type: Sci-Fi Action Adventure

A Journey Across The Moon

Set in a near-future world, PRAGMATA follows Hugh and his android companion Diana as they navigate a cold, isolated lunar research station. It’s a setting that immediately stands out – sterile, mysterious, and filled with questions waiting to be answered.

The relationship between the two leads sits at the heart of the experience. Hugh brings the human perspective, while Diana offers something more analytical and distant, creating a dynamic that evolves as the story unfolds.

It’s this pairing that gives PRAGMATA its identity, blending action with quieter, more character-driven moments.

A Long Road To Launch

PRAGMATA hasn’t had the smoothest journey to release. Originally revealed several years ago, it disappeared for stretches before re-emerging with updated gameplay and a confirmed 2026 window – something we covered back in late 2025.

Since then, anticipation has steadily grown, helped by its distinctive tone and the promise of something a little different from Capcom’s usual lineup. It also secured a spot in our Best Games of April 2026 feature, marking it out as one to watch.

Now that it’s finally here, the question is whether it delivers on that promise.

A Fresh Sci-Fi Experience

Early impressions – including our own full review – suggest that PRAGMATA largely sticks the landing. In fact, we scored it a strong 4.5/5, noting: “Playing it genuinely feels like a breath of fresh air… It is always great to see a new IP launch successfully, and hopefully, we will get to see this world expanded with more stories featuring Hugh and Diana in the future.

That sense of freshness comes from its mix of cinematic storytelling, exploration and gameplay systems that don’t feel overly familiar, even within a crowded genre.

Deluxe Edition – What’s Included?

For those opting for the Deluxe Edition (£59.99), there’s a bundle of additional content under the Shelter Variety Pack, including:

  • Hugh Outfit – Heavy Lifter
  • Hugh Outfit – Lunar Cat
  • Diana Outfit – Mecha Builder
  • Diana Outfit – Fluffy
  • Weapon Skin – Grip Gun DS
  • Shelter BGM – Memories Are You (Lo-fi Ver.)
  • Shelter BGM – Dawn (EDM Ver.)
  • Shelter BGM – Shelter (Jazz Ver.)
  • Diana Gesture – Drowsy
  • Diana Gesture – Pumped Up
  • Diana Gesture – Stepping
  • Data Library – Artwork

It’s a mix of cosmetic items, music variations and extras that expand the experience without altering the core game.

A New World Worth Exploring?

PRAGMATA represents something increasingly rare – a brand-new IP from a major publisher that feels confident enough to take its time and do things its own way. Between its lunar setting, character-driven story and strong early reception, it’s shaping up to be one of the more interesting releases of the year.

And if this is just the beginning for Hugh and Diana, there’s every chance this universe has more stories left to tell.

Is PRAGMATA on Game Pass?

It’s also worth noting that PRAGMATA is not launching on Game Pass. This is a full premium release, meaning players will need to purchase either the Standard or Deluxe Edition to jump in.

Similarly, there’s no Play Anywhere support tied to the Xbox version, so progress and purchases won’t carry across between console and PC.

You will however be able to find PRAGMATA on the usual digital stores right now. We’ll point you to the Xbox Store in order to grab that Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition.
