Rocket Rats – now on Xbox and PlayStation

We’ve come so far, since the launch of the mega-hit that is Vampire Survivors. So far, in fact, that the term ‘survivors-like’ is very much in the gaming consciousness, and is certainly a way to describe Rocket Rats.

Rocket Rats is the latest title from developers Gagonfe, and will have you blasting off to the Moon, before dishing out ratty chaos on cheese-based celestial bodies.

Short & Sharp

Now available on Xbox and PlayStation – along with the PC release that came at the back-end of 2024 – Rocket Rats can be completed in just 1-2 hours, however it is the replayability (found within all survivors-likes worth their salt) that will have you captivated for much longer.

Here, you’ll pick one of numerous armed and dangerous rats to take to the moon, before destroying waves upon waves of cheesy foes. As you work your way through each run in this horde-based title, you’ll unlock new characters, permanently upgrade your heroes through skill trees, and of course hone your fighting reflexes in order to take down the biggest and baddest of enemies.

Not only will you be able to collect cheese to bring upgrades with you from run-to-run, but after each wave within a single run of Rocket Rats, you’ll be provided with tons of new weapons and abilities to choose from. No run will ever be the same!

Play Today!

Rocket Rats can now be located on the respective storefronts for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC.

Of course, everyone knows that for Xbox you’ll be needing the Xbox Store: the game is available over there for £4.99 (with separate listings for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One).

There’s also a Bundle for £8.39 which combines both Xbox editions with some PC play.

Of course, keep your eyes peeled for our full review of Rocket Rats on Xbox, which will be coming soon!

Rocket Rats Description

All systems are go, prepare for liftoff! Rocket Rats is a survivors-like game where you defeat waves of cheesy critters on the moon. You play as one of many rats whose job is to extract cheese for your space base – by blasting them off with guns!

The moon is filled with enemies dead set on attacking you. Luckily for us, they’re just what we were looking for! Defeat various cheese-based enemies that come in various waves, but be careful not to be swarmed by them!

To help you defeat the ever-growing horde of enemies, you can get various different upgrades throughout your run. From Star Allies that fire at enemies with you, to Lightning summoning, to Poison debuffs, you’ll always have plenty of options to improve your stats based on your preferred playstyle.

The more you play, the more cheese you collect. With it, you can buy permanent upgrades and improve stats through skill trees designed to elevate your character’s build. Play as a nerdy rodent, a battered soldier, a mecha-rat, and much more with unlockable characters.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
