The pit wall is buzzing with strategy, and the online lobbies are preparing to open for business.

GIANTS Software and Straight4 Studios have taken to the Tokyo Game Show to unveil a host of major new reveals for their upcoming simulation, Project Motor Racing. The headline news is a deep dive into the game’s complete online racing ecosystem, which promises a “no-nonsense” approach with no additional subscriptions or server fees.

On top of the multiplayer news, six new brands, and seven new cars have been revealed, alongside the addition of the iconic Sebring International Raceway.

The Grid Continues to Grow

This latest wave of news adds another huge layer to what is already shaping up to be the ultimate racing simulation.

We were already hugely excited by the confirmed November 25th release date and the groundbreaking cross-platform mod support. Then, at Gamescom, the team wowed us again with the addition of Porsche and legendary tracks.

This new TGS reveal continues that incredible momentum, with a clear focus on a robust and fair competitive experience.

Online Racing, Built for Racers

Project Motor Racing is being built with a clear, community-focused philosophy for its online multiplayer.

“No passes. No rentals. No subscriptions,” says Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios. “PMR gives you full online racing on day one, right out of the box – built for drivers who value clean, hard competition over complicated paywalls and qualification hurdles.”

The online ecosystem is packed with a variety of ways to play:

  • Cross-Play Monthly Championships: Compete in scheduled race times with weekly track rotations.
  • Two Leaderboard Modes: Chase real-world lap times in Factory Driver Challenges or take on long-distance Endurance Hall Events.
  • Custom Lobbies: Host your own races with your own rules, cars, and tracks, “just like in the old days.”
  • Social Races: Quick, 15-minute casual events perfect for newcomers or a quick fix for veterans.
  • Ranked Racing: A full, structured championship mode with skill-based matchmaking, divisions, and per-class ranked grids.

New Brands, Heavy-Hitters, and Historic Asphalt

The already impressive car and track list for Project Motor Racing continues to expand with some true icons of motorsport.

Six new major brands have been confirmed for the game: Acura, Chevrolet, Mazda, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan, and Toyota.

This brings a host of new vehicles to the 70+ car roster, including:

  • Acura NSX GT3 Evo 22 (2022)
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R (2023)
  • Mazda MX-5 Spec (2017)
  • Mazda 787B (1991)
  • Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2020)
  • Nissan Z GT4 (2023)
  • Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo (2023)

Conquering Sebring

Joining the global track lineup is the legendary Sebring International Raceway. One of the oldest and most demanding circuits in the U.S., its famously bumpy surface will be another incredible challenge for sim racers to master.

The green flag on what could be the definitive new era of sim racing is about to drop. With an unparalleled commitment to fair, competitive online play and a constantly growing roster of iconic cars and tracks, Project Motor Racing is a must-watch.

The final countdown to the November 25th release is well and truly on. It’s set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
