Alongside the release date, two huge pieces of news have been confirmed: a first look at the game’s challenging Career Mode, and the groundbreaking confirmation of full-fledged, cross-platform mod support from day one.
Sounds good eh? But good enough to find a place on our Best Racing Simulators list? We’ll find out.
Motorsport with Consequences: A Look at Career Mode
A new trailer gives us our first look at Project Motor Racing’s single-player Career Mode, which aims to capture the cutthroat reality of professional motorsports. This isn’t just about winning races; it’s about survival. Players will need to manage budgets, pay for repairs, and keep sponsors happy to progress.
“We wanted to capture the harsh reality of pro motorsport: Budgets. Repairs. Sponsors. Failed overtakes that don’t just wreck your car but your whole season… Your career in Project Motor Racing is motorsport with consequences,” explains Straight4’s Game Design Director, Austin Ogonoski.
This focus on risk-versus-reward racing promises a deep and challenging experience where deciding whether to push for glory or play it safe to race another day is a key part of the strategy.
The GIANTS Way: Full Mod Support Comes to Console Racing
In what could be a revolutionary move for the console racing genre, Project Motor Racing will feature premier-level mod support across all platforms from day one. This is made possible by the proven GIANTS Engine, the same powerhouse behind the incredibly popular and mod-friendly Farming Simulator series.
All user-generated content can be created using the official GIANTS Editor and submitted through an in-game UGC Portal. From there, every mod will be tested by the developers before being made available for download, ensuring a high standard of quality and compatibility.
“Project Motor Racing taps into the same powerhouse modding ecosystem as Farming Simulator,” says Boris Stefan, CSO & Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software. “Racing modders will be able to tweak, tune, and transform their experience however they like.”
With GIANTS Software’s existing ModHub boasting over 4.5 billion downloads, this brings an unrivalled modding heritage to the racing world, giving console players an unprecedented level of creative freedom.
An Authentic Racing Experience
Even without mods, the game is built to satisfy the most demanding sim racers.
- Meticulously Recreated Content – The game will feature over 70 meticulously recreated cars across 10 iconic racing classes, including modern LMDh prototypes, GT3 machines, and historic legends. These can be raced on 27 laser-scanned track layouts, all featuring dynamic weather and full day/night cycles for pinpoint realism.
- Unmatched Physics – The experience is powered by a blistering 720 Hz simulation engine, designed to deliver unmatched driving physics and force feedback.
With its uncompromising approach to simulation and a game-changing commitment to mod support on consoles, Project Motor Racing is revving up to be a major new contender in the sim racing space.
The lights go out on November 25th, 2025. We’ll be sure to remind you when it is time to take to the track on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
