For the last year or so we’ve been happily wandering around hotly anticipating what Project Scorpio will bring to the gaming table. Now though things have changed. Project Scorpio is no more. Xbox One X is here!
Or at least it’ll be here soon as Xbox One X, the most powerful gaming console ever created will arrive come November 7th 2017. It comes with a £449/$499/499 EUR price tag, 1 1TB hard drive as standard, a matching Xbox wireless controller, your every day HDMI cable, a power supply (luckily), a 1-month subscription to the new Xbox Game Pass and that good old 14 day Xbox Live Gold membership which we have had bundle with our consoles for a while.
Now, you may think that Xbox One X looks a little like Xbox One S, and you’d be right. Except it’s smaller, blacker and a whole ton more powerful. In fact, it has 40 percent more power than any other console, with that glorious 6-teraflop Scorpio heart powering it, ensuring that games will not look better with the native 4K capabilities, but play a load better too.
Three USB 3.0 ports like the Xbox One S will be able to sort you out for connectivity, whilst the inbuilt power supply and IR blaster are both what we have come to now expect. Thankfully, should you already own an S, and wish to just plug and play with Xbox One X, then all cables can be transferred over.
But Xbox One X isn’t just arriving on the scene looking to forge its own path. Nope. Instead it will be fully compatible with the entire range of Xbox devices, ensuring that you’ll have full back-comp ready with all existing XO and 360 titles, Play Anywhere titles will work and all your accessories can be carried over. The only difference being that your games will load quicker and look better with the newer console.
So, there we have it. Xbox One X is here and it’s ready to tear up the gaming world. Whether you’re tempted to buy it just so your current library is enhanced, or are looking for an even deeper experience with the likes of Forza Motorsport 7, Cuphead or any of the other multitude of E3 announced titles, then it is most definitely going to be the console for you.
Get saving!
As soon as I get a 4K TV I’ll pick up the XOX. Don’t see much point in getting one before that.
Scorpio was a better name, really didnt like the conference. Still day one for me though.
I think it should be X boxOne360noscopeblazeit420 X
Day One!! Name is crap, Scorpio is way better. I hope they do a decent bundle and it’s great that my Elite controller will work with it and that it isn’t £100 down the toilet.
I’m definitely getting one although I do agree, the name is lame. Should have stuck with Scorpio, way cooler!
Meh. I don’t like the name. It looks like one of the many FPS clan names. X Box One X
Yes please! Money put aside for November…:D
