Wired Productions and developer LKA.it will soon be bringing their psychological thriller, The Town of Light to a PC and console near you. Want to know exactly when? The release date is here!

Arriving on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, it’ll be time to visit The Town of Light on June 6th 2017. Releasing in both physical and digital formats, it will feature numerous improvements and all-new content as it releases on console.

Today, a live action trailer has been released and highlights the story-driven game and its reality-grounded premise. Lending insight into the fictional story of Renée, and set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum – a former mental treatment facility based in Tuscany, Italy – The Town of Light is based on extensive research and inspired by first-hand accounts of the asylum’s patients.

This new release of The Town of Light will bring a host of new puzzles, new story-supporting content, reworked voiceover dialogue, additional interactive elements and a huge graphical and UI overhaul that aims to deliver a more polished and immersive experience for its console debut and enhanced PC release. Played through the fictional eyes of Renée, a 16-year-old girl who suffers from the symptoms of mental illness, players must search for answers to the many questions from her past while exploring and uncovering the place where she spent most of her youth.

We’ll only actually find out what happens next come June 6th 2017, but it promises to be a dark and emotional journey where the lines of interactive entertainment, storytelling and reality frequently tend to blur. We will of course remind you then that time comes but you may wish to set aside the £15.99/$19.99 required right now. It’s gonna be a good un!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
