Quarantine Zone- The Last Check – now on Game Pass and Xbox

Every zombie apocalypse story eventually reaches the point where somebody has to make the impossible decisions. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check puts you in that unenviable position, arriving today on Xbox Series X|S after first finding an audience on PC. Better still, it’s also available from day one through Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass, making it an easy addition to your download queue if you’re already subscribed.

Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Brigada Games, this isn’t another action-heavy zombie shooter. Instead, it challenges you to become the final barrier between humanity and total collapse.

Every Survivor Tells a Story

The outbreak is already underway when you take command of a vital military checkpoint. Exhausted civilians arrive in desperate need of shelter, but appearances can be deceiving.

Using advanced scanners and detection equipment, it’s your job to inspect everyone who passes through. Signs of infection, concealed contraband and suspicious behaviour all need to be spotted before you make a decision.

Do you wave them through to safety? Send them into quarantine? Order further testing? Or accept that some people simply can’t be allowed inside? Every judgement carries consequences, and one mistake could be enough to doom everyone under your protection.

It’s Not Just About Spotting Zombies

The inspection process may be the hook, but it’s only one part of the challenge.

As your settlement grows, you’ll need to keep power flowing, food supplies stocked and medicine available for an ever-increasing population. Defences require constant attention too, particularly when infected hordes begin testing the perimeter.

When the pressure ramps up, armed drones become another vital tool, helping you keep the compound secure while you juggle the growing demands of life inside the quarantine zone.

Survival Means Making Difficult Choices

One of the more intriguing aspects of Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is how it treats scientific progress.

Not every infected survivor needs to be eliminated immediately. Newly turned zombies can be contained and studied, allowing researchers to unlock new technologies, equipment upgrades and long-term improvements for the camp.

Other experiments are even more morally complicated. Survivors with unknown symptoms can also be analysed, but doing so comes at a fatal cost.

A Strong Game Pass Addition

Zombie games aren’t exactly in short supply, but Quarantine Zone: The Last Check approaches the genre from a refreshing angle. Rather than handing you a shotgun and asking you to clear another street, it focuses on responsibility, resource management and the constant pressure of making life-or-death decisions.

The fact it’s included with Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass from launch only sweetens the deal. If you’re not a subscriber, the game is available to purchase for ÂŁ16.74 on Xbox Series X|S, all via the Xbox Store.

Will your instincts keep the infection out, or will one bad call bring everything crashing down?
