Slowly and surely Artifex Mundi have continued to build out the Hidden Object genre on Xbox. In fact, whilst their numerous franchises are all pretty well worth taking in, over the course of the last few years it’s been the Queen’s Quest series which has really picked up steam. That’s the case today as Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death comes to Xbox – for free.

Available to download absolutely free of charge right now on Xbox is Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death. As the name suggests, this is the fifth in the Queen’s Quest series, but this time around Artifex are looking to harness a new angle – that of the free download.

Yep, Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death will cost you not a single penny to download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. When you consider that full Smart Delivery is in the house, as well as next-gen Series X|S optimisation, that’s something that is hugely appreciated.

It seems to take the tale which has been built out previously too, throwing us into a world that is set just a few months after the evil queen’s reign had ended. Once again we discover King Robert looking for our help, mostly as the kids of the land of Netherfall are going missing. It’s up to you to hunt down and put a stop to the evil Pied Piper’s ways.

If you wish to know what the Queen’s Quest series is all about, check out our reviews of Queen’s Quest 2, Queen’s Quest 3 and Queen’s Quest 4.

From there we’re expecting the usual Artifex Mundi ideas to roll into play – the need to scour scenes for hidden objects, the inclusion of some seriously dodgy voice work, but still managing to push out a tale that you’ll want to see through to the end.

We’d highly recommend you play through a ton of the previous Artifex Mundi titles – in fact, we spent a week playing those solely – and that will certainly give you an insight into what to expect here. The alternative of course if to jump into this one, especially seeing as it is free.

That freeness does come with a little caveat though – expect microtransactions to come to the fore. In terms of Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death there are three options to consider, working prices in the region of £1.69, £8.39 and £16.74 for the Small Potion – 10 Hints bit of help, the Big Potion – 80 Hints and that of Enormous Potion – 250 Hints. Basically put, get stuck and Artifex will happily take your money. Struggle through and you’re going to be the winner.

You’ll find Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death present on the Xbox Store. Go and grab it.

You’ll be able to read our full review thoughts of Queen’s Quest 5: Symphony of Death soon too.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
