The enjoyable homage to the classic platformers of the ‘90s that is Rad Rodgers, is gearing up for a Nintendo Switch release in two weeks time, bringing with it plenty of fresh new content to boot. Even better news is the fact that every new Radical addition will come to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via a free update!
In Rad Rodgers, the titular character and his rather foul-mouthed living game console Dusty set out on a totally awesome quest across seven vibrant, for an adventure inspired by ‘90s classics like Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit. When the Radical Edition arrives, you’ll be able to fight alongside or go up against your pals thanks to the new local co-op and versus modes. So, it’s up to you whether you get aggressive and lay the smack down on them or take on the task of saving the videogame world.
Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition also adds ‘90s gaming icons Duke Nukem (Jon St. John is back to reprise his role!), Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior, Cosmo from Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure, and Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison from Bombshell and the upcoming Ion Maiden. You can let Rad have a rest whilst you take one of these classic characters for a spin instead. Other totally awesome features include new levels, abilities, mini-games, a new over-world and tons of new secrets, collectables and unlockables.
“We love Rad, and we thought he deserved some awesome new friends to play with,” said Frederik Schreiber, co-owner of 3D Realms. “With new levels, weapons, couch co-op and a versus mode, I think our fans may have a hard time putting this game down.”
Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition, which is developed by Slipgate Studios and published by 3D Realms and HandyGames, arrives on 26th February for Nintendo Switch. A free content update to will release simultaneously on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC at launch.
