Set during the golden years of steam trains in the Americas, Railroads Online is now available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Allowing up to 15 players to join the same server, Railroads Online puts you in charge of designing your ideal steam rail network, complete with switches, turntables, and anything else every network worth its salt may require.
There’s three huge maps for you to test out your train-based nous across, each home to some stunning vistas.
Of course, money makes the world go round. And as you start to rake in the cash through your business, you can reinvest such funds into new vehicles, upgrades to your existing fleet, or the production of cutting-edge infrastructure to ensure your trains are in tip-top condition, 24/7.

Alongside the full launch of Railroads Online comes two additional DLCs, available for purchase separately to the base game. Firstly, the Pioneer DLC brings in the Bell’s Gap 0-6-0 locomotive, bonus skin for the Montezuma locomotive, and the ‘Red Mountain’ depot that can be placed in your world.
The Explorer DLC takes things wild, unlocking the ability to place new plants and animal species into your game, as well as kit out your fleet with a new caboose and the FE&MV 4-8-0 Mastodon.
PS5 players should also make note of the 27th February 2025, as this is when the exclusive Railroads Online – Pioneer Edition launches, containing both the base game and Pioneer DLC.

Railroads Online is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC. Whether you are playing solo or with as many friends as a lobby can muster, you can expect a rootin’, tootin’ good time creating the steam train networks every little boy dreams of running. Railroads Online can be found for £34.99 via the Xbox Store.
There’s also the Extended Edition for £37.49 which chucks those DLC packs in with the base game.
