BrokenLore DON'T WATCH
BrokenLore DON’T WATCH – now on Xbox

That creeping feeling of being watched, of a malevolent presence lurking just at the edge of your perception, has been given terrifying form in a new psychological horror game – BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH.

This is the latest entry in the intricate horror series, and it has launched today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. From developer Serafini Productions and publisher Shochiku, this first-person nightmare is available right now for £8.39.

A Prison of Your Own Making

Prepare to explore the unraveling mind of a young man trapped by his own anxiety, but be warned: you are not alone in his apartment, and something is always watching.

In DON’T WATCH, you are placed into the world of Shinji, a young hikikomori – a modern recluse trapped inside his small Tokyo apartment.

Crushed by the weight of unpaid rent, mounting bills, and a family that doesn’t understand him, he feels completely isolated from the world, and from himself. His only escape from the crushing weight of his anxiety is video games, but even that is becoming less of a refuge.

A Mind Unraveling

This is a game about exploring Shinji’s mind as it begins to break. As you navigate the claustrophobic confines of his apartment, you must be cautious. A malevolent entity named Hyakume, a terrifying being with a hundred eyes, is watching your every move, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Shinji’s only link to the outside world is his PC, but in the world of DON’T WATCH, even there, safety is an illusion. The digital window to the world may offer a brief respite, but the ever-present gaze of Hyakume means that terror can manifest anywhere, at any time.

Can You Play BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH on Game Pass?

BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH lands on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as a paid experience, one that will set you back £8.39. And unfortunately, at least at launch, it is not available through Game Pass for Xbox.

Further, there is no Xbox Play Anywhere support either.

If those things change, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Key Features

  • First-Person Psychological Horror: A tense and atmospheric experience from the intricate BrokenLore series.
  • A Unique Protagonist: Play as Shinji, a young hikikomori trapped by his own anxiety in a small Tokyo apartment.
  • Face a Terrifying Entity: Be hunted by Hyakume, a malevolent being with a hundred eyes, who is always watching.
  • Explore an Unraveling Mind: Your journey takes place within the claustrophobic confines of both a physical space and a fragmenting psyche.

The all-seeing eyes are waiting and the line between reality and nightmare has already begun to blur. If you’re a fan of deep, psychological horror that preys on modern fears of isolation, BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH is ready to be experienced on the Xbox Store right now.

Remember the most important rule of all. Whatever you do… Don’t Watch.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
