skate., the new free-to-play experience from Full Circle and EA, has officially launched in Early Access today. This new chapter is now available to download and play for free on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC.

skate. is set in the vibrant, ever-evolving city of San Vansterdam. This is a dynamic social world, an online multiplayer playground where no two days are alike, and fun waits around every corner. You will join up to 150 other players on the servers as you immerse yourself in the city’s budding skate culture.
The beloved Flick-It controls return, now improved and more responsive than ever. You can play with physics to experience those “only in skate.” moments, or for the first time, you can hop off your board and explore on foot, climbing to discover new, secret spots at all heights across the city.
Pave Your Own Path and Create Your Own Fun
This is your journey. You can earn rewards and REP no matter how you want to play, taking on activities, challenges, and events. You’ll have access to a rich and growing suite of character customization options and an extensive inventory of gear from some of the biggest brands in skateboarding.
You can even shape the world itself by placing skateable objects in real-time with your Quick Drop items, or create your own challenges against other skaters with Throwdowns.

This is only the beginning. The experience will continue to evolve and grow with your feedback helping to shape the future of San Vansterdam. The team is planning ongoing and seasonal updates featuring new gameplay experiences, fresh rewards, new locations, and in-game events.

The return of skate. marks a huge moment for the skateboarding genre. For years, the undisputed king of the comeback has been the Birdman himself. We were blown away by the remakes, calling Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 the compilation that brought the franchise “back into the gaming spotlight” in our 4.5/5 review. We felt the same about the follow-up, stating in our 4.5/5 review of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 that it was a “comprehensive celebration of two iconic games.“
Between the arcade perfection of Tony Hawk and the hardcore simulation of titles like Session: Skate Sim, which we gave a 3/5 score in our review, there has been a huge gap in the market.
